Hi All!

I just joined. I have an '04 Cooper S BRG/B w/ #1,2 & 3 packs, Leather and HK Sound.

I nearly sold it to move to a Beemer, but drove the 330i realized what a Goombah I would have been to do that as the Mini drives soooo much better!

Anyhow, as I am keeping the Mini, I have decided to Mod it some. I have the Pilo Racing CAI on it already, and was wondering if anyone could give advice on a mod path? I am a fairly aggressive driver, and have noticed the understeer (getting on 676 from 295S in Philly for those locals!) that I would like to sort out, and am thinking on the short shifter. Otherwise, thoughts on order of mods (wheels/engine/brakes) would be great.

You could correct the understeer with a stiffer/larger rear swaybar.As for aggressive driving and wanting more speed I think I will leave those suggestions to the more knowledgable folks.

Well, I'll chime in ... I'm a fairly aggressive (read:FAST) driver and also attend the occasional track day/auto-x event. These are my mods - I've been very happy with them too:

Cabin:
1.) B&M sport shifter kit - one of the best, least expensive mods you can do!!
2.) Replaced lame, chintzy, plastic driving light switch with a more solid metal toggle swtich. Also re-wired lamps to work independantly from hi-beams :smile:

Engine -
1.) Alta 15% Supercharger pulley
2.) GIAC ECU flash
3.) K&N Typhoon CAI
4.) Invidia cat-back exhaust

Suspension -
1.) M7 springs
2.) Alta 22mm rear sway bar
3.) H-Sport rear lower control arms

Brakes -
1.) Replaced stock brake fluid with Ate Super Blue
2.) Replaced stock brake w/Stainless Streel brake lines
3.) Replaced stock brake rotors w/Slotted brake rotors
4.) Replaced stock brake pads w/Ferodo 2500 pads
5.) installed Tyrolsport brass caliper bushings kit
