Production Week 36 (09-05-05) Support Group - First 06's!!!

Just talked with rep at ASK-MINI and am getting the same answer. She does'nt know why the OL system isn't more updated. She assures me that mine will be complete by 9/6, and at that time she can tell me where it WAS daily in the production line. I told her by that time it would not matter. She says it takes 10-12 days to go through production. Have not heard anything via email from MINI since I placed the order. "Patiently?? waiting".

phone update
The OL is still 'scheduled for production' though on the phone I am in the 'body shop' with a competion date of 9/5 I checked the boat schedule and I need it to get completed on time and get on boat on 9/8 to get her extra quickly. Otherwise I'll be waiting 4 more days for transport.
Man all this tracking information is dangerous!

Getting the info from the automated message
The automated message told me Minerva is "in the paint shop".
Last time I talked with the rep they said the different stages, in production, body shop, paint shop assembly will happen quickly when they start and that the estimated completion date (mine is today 9/24) is a good estimate to go by.
The OL online still has me as "scheduled for production" and still no options listed.

the phone message and OL are behind
The phone message says I am in the paint shop with scheduled completion on 9/5. Well, I just spoke to a rep and my mini is officially born. She was completed yesterday 9/5. The rep said it would only be a day or 2 before she is brought over to the port in Southhampton. Though the rep also said she may sit at the port for 7-10 days. He said there are A LOT of cars waiting to be shipped (the last round 05's?). So I am crossing my fingers I get lucky and she gets on a ship soon.
The OL still says 'scheduled for production' with none of my options listed.
The rep said to go to the shipping company's website (depending where you are which shipping line) and try to see if you can enter your VIN (you can with WW) and see (rep told me to give it a shot on Thurs. or Friday and see). Though your MA should be able to give you that information once it gets on a ship. Once it has set sail, you can track the ship (there are threads with the links here and mini2).

Hey, Sagworks, I got the same info you got. Mine is waiting for a "taxi" to go to the port. Looks like our cars may be ship mates. I guess that happens when you live in "Green..." towns. Let me know when you find out what ship it will be on. You seem to get more out of ASK MINI than I do. The did not give as much info on the shipping as I got.

Just talked to my MA and it looks like Icarus is still in production but will definitely be finished before week 36 is done. I wonder if that means it'll ship out the sametime you guys do. If it's on the next ship then that's fine. It just gives me another week or so to save up more for the downpayment. My MA informed me that I have a VIN and where to find it on OL. That was such a convenient place. I find the OL layout poorly organized.

There is another thread in this forum called "'06 MCS on Otello". Looks like we have our own cult, first '06's on Otello, started. Here are the instructions that Bwana Yak posted:
To check shipping status, go to:
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp
then pull down the Customer Centre menu and select Cargo Tracking.
On the Cargo Tracking page, click on Track by Auto Cargo.
Plug your VIN into the Cargo ID field and click the Track button. The website will display where your Mini currently is. (mine was just received at the terminal in Southampton 47 minutes ago). Take note of the Vessel and Voyage info.
Go back to the Customer Centre menu and select Schedules.
Select Search by Voyage under Schedule Options and plug in your Voyage info.
There's your shipping schedule!
