2005 MCS LY/LY/LY is here..thanks MINI of Pittsburgh!

Bridget arrived in the great Pacific Northwest from MINI of Pittsburgh yesterday morning. A huge thanks to Graham Chandler, MA at MINI of Pittsburgh, for making this a smooth easy process. Graham answered every (****) email or phone call of mine immediately and with enthusiasm. Imagine, no 10 month West Coast wait, no dealer mark-up and free shipping. And, yes, the MINI keychain and mints were tucked in the glovebox.

Bridget was born this summer, and is undoubtedly one of the last of the Liquid Yellow MCSs. I thought hard about ordering the interior body color in LY, but it is beyond my expectations. It is simply stunning and pulls together the entire car. You should have seen the neighbors oogling and begging for rides last night.

I still can't wipe the grin off my face. Back in 'the day', I've owned Corvairs, early model 'Stangs, Super Beetles, the great early LeMans beauties, Audis, and NOTHING beats this MINI for handling, fun, smiles, and genius design. Happy 50th birthday to me!

See My Gallery for photos.
Happy Motoring to all!!!

Looks absolutely wonderful.

I love the monotone look of the non-metalic colors....

We have CR/CR...but we didn't go for the interior w/ body color....

Yours looks great!

Really liking the webspokes!

I've seen a lot of MINIs, but I think yours is the first LY/LY I've seen... let alone LY/LY/LY! Very rare, Verrrry nice.

Yep, andromcs, that monochromatic look is so retro to me. Must be age Not that I don't love every MINI I've seen, though. I almost didn't get Bridget due to some shenanigans my son pulled. But, she was meant to be mine and Tough Love won out!
I really am disappointed that BMW is dropping the "eye-popping" colors off their palette. No MCS LY? No MCS EB? I drool when I see that rare Silk Green on the road. And, yep, viva la Velvet Red, but thank goodness CR survived.
Guess I'll have to keep Bridget for a long long time

There was a lady at AMVIV this year with that colour combo who went a step futher. She had an interior shop in LA recover her seats (front and back) in yellow leather, and had the boots done in the same yellow leather. Looked great.

Well, I dunno if it is exactly a step further - she doesn't have the yellow dash/door trim.

Looks good though... both of them!

You're right. I did the typing before I looked at the pic. I honestly thought the interior was all yellow.
Oh well. Both look fantastic IMO. Almost enough to make me swap out my interior for the yellow one.

No, alpinamike, I won't be at the meet. Bridget lives in WA state, so she'll have to show her stuff here. Thanks for the invite, and if I lived in PA, I'd be there in a jiff to meet new people:smile:

But you can make it down the left coast for AMVIV in March though. I'm expecting a convoy to roll in again from Seattle.

So I've left it until the end of the thread to welcome Bridget50 to the world of MINI ownership. I sold her this fabulous LY/LY/LY Cooper S out of our Pittsburgh, PA dealership.

Judy, have a blast with this car and let us all know about your adventures with it. I already know that you love it to death and that it's the best car you've owned and driven (per your email).

If anyone else on the west coast needs a MINI, I'm here. Free shipping has gone away due to fuel prices, but I can still deliver cars at MSRP.
