Well, picked up our HB/W MCS yesterday as expected....wasn't until late though....very spiffy, has the English Leather interior (smells great), assume it drives nice. My wife drove it home and took it to work to show off today so I still haven't driven it....Sigh....

Oh, well, will let y'all know when (& if) I ever get my hands on it.

Cheers

My wife is afraid to drive the (her) car home from the dealer by herself, so the *unpleasant* task will fall to me. Damn the bad luck!

Well, it is good that she has someone so nice to handle the unpleasant tasks for her.

I'll be happy to post pictures as soon as they release my car.

Just received a call from the dealer that it will be another week wait. It is at the dealer but all is not well. You don't want to know the details. It would not be a short story but maybe a novel.

Hello all,

The end of my wait is near, I hope. While my wife & I were out to a movie & dinner my substitute MA called. He said he'd be there until 6:00 pm & to call him. I missed 6:00 so it's 9:00 am tommorrow for some good news, I hope. I wish he'd have said what he called for. Does this mean my new HB/W MCS is there waiting for me? Man I hope so. I want to drive over right now & scope out the place to see if my new toy is there. The police probably wouldn't understand my reason for lurking around the closed dealer in the dark. I'll call tomorrow & report back here. Wish me luck.

Your MINI is hot love the checkmate. Did you use a blowdryer to get the sticker off?

Well it's finally happened. My MCS is here!!! Went over to the dealer this morning after breakfast. I'm on cloud 9, but there may be one hitch. Seems as though the dealer got a load of new MINI's in & may not be able to have it ready for pickup until Monday.:impatient My substitute MA said he'd do his best. My fingers are crossed. Here are a few pictures for you. Sorry for the low qaulity all I had was my point & shoot in the car with me.

Hywydsgnr,

That's a nice looking car. My dealer got a boat load of new MINI's in yesterday, but no checkmates & none of them were your color. I think you have a unique one there. The stripe is very nice. I'd like a white one for my car. I wonder if it's available.

My Dealer just let me know that my car is here and I will be able to pick it up on Monday or Tuesday. The only dealer installed accessories are the Aux Audio input and a foot rest
I'm really excited to see her! It is a MC, PW/B, manual, seven piano black dash, black cloth seats, convience pkg, DSC, front & rear fogs, xenon, chrome line, chrono, multi-function wheel, anthracite headliner. I have a new set of 17" silver S-lites with 215/45/17 tires waiting her garage arrival.

Car was ordered on 8/5 built on 9/30 arrived to Dallas on 10/28.

I will post some pictures ( yes I really will!!) next week.

Regards to all,
Warren

Thanks Chuck!

My dealer told me that I am one of the first Checkmates in NY. Week 40 was the first build week for the Checkmates and new silver stripe.

Don't think it comes in white from the factory. I am sure a local shop will be able to duplicate it in white.

Hwydsgnr: Very nice.

Other Port Hueneme Week 40'ers: I talked to my dealer today. The ship due into port hueneme on 11/6 has slipped out to 11/8. More waiting. :impatient

In brighter news, I got my new tires mounted to the new wheels, so they are good to go. I was tempted to put them on my '02 MCS for a couple weeks but decided against it.

That PS/B looks great. That's a combination that I haven't seen much in these parts. The pictures that people are sharing here are much better than what is shown on the MINI.com site. The colors look so much better & true to life here.

Good luck with your new ride, Quicksilver.

The car came in wrong!!! :-(

Hey folks,

You won't believe this.....

Got the call at 4:15 today. Can you make it here by 6:00 to pick up your new MCS? Heck yes I can!!!. Chad my MA really came through for me. We did the hand the money to the money man, signed the papers & were ready to get in our new car for the motor home.

When I looked inside what did I see? An alloy patina dash. Not what I had ordered, it was supposed to be antracite. OH #@!&xz%#!!! I was asked what it would take for me to accept the car. Well an anthracite dash me said. Chad then ordered me the car the way that I wanted. He was very good about it all. The mistake wasn't even his, the car was ordered by an MA that no longer works there. He didn't order it correctly.

Now I get to go through the waiting game all over again. My long suffering wife said she may not be able to take it again. I took the opportunity to change a couple of things.

1.- No chrono pack
2.- Chrome exterior
3.- No conveinience pack .... just an auto dimming mirror.
4.- Anthracite interior

The rest of the spec is staying the same. I will admit that now I am wondering if I should change paint colors, maybe Royal grey, Pepper white or??? My wife wants to kill me.

Here is the final spec.

HB/W
Grey/black plastic cow
Antracite dash
CWP
MFW
Auto dimming mirror
Chrome line exterior
Xenon
Fogs front
Fog rear
LSD

I left with a production number. The car is status 112. The spec of a dealer ordered car is being changed to mine. Gosh I hope it comes in right & proper.

Leaving that beautiful MCS was a hard thing to do, but the dash would've always bugged me. Worse yet it really bugged my wife. That alloy look just isn't my cup O tea. I mean no disrespect to those that have & love it.

If you're in the market in the central Ohio area give Chad Simkins a call. He is a most understanding MA. They have a very nice HB/W MCS on the lot for immediate sale. Tell em Chuck sent you.

tampastang: PS/B looks great! The s-lites in silver go very well with it too.

crashton: Aw, that bites. Sorry your spec got screwed up. I have been living with alloy patina now for 3.5 years. I took it because that was the only dash option available at the time, but it has always bothered me, especially after seeing the newer dash options.

You'll have to keep us posted on your MINIs progress. Be sure to post to the week 40 thread when it does finally show up.

Thanks for the kind words DiD. One day I'll look back on this & laugh, but it may take a while. My wife says I should look on the bright side. It'll make a whopper of a Christmas gift.
