Production Week 40!

variance
Ordered 9/3, but still no VIN via OL and ASK-MINI (which just says "on order" with color and upholstery choice, no options showing).
It seems the the range of order to production time really varies quite a lot -- some folks ordered their Minis a week or two after I ordered mine, and have been bumped up to as high as week 38 production...

I did notice that vessels are leaving Southhampton for Port Hueneme on 10/5 (Trianon) & 10/6 (Maersk Wind). If we miss those, there's not another boat until 10/18 (Isolde). The transit is listed as 25 days (Trianon) & 23 days (Maersk Wind), arriving 10/30 & 10/29. Isolde arrives 11/10. Guess this will be the difference between early November & Mid-November delivery.

Hopefully it winds up working out for evertyone to get on either the Trianon or the Maersk Wind (preferrably the Maersk Wind).

Jenn: the best way to make sure your MINI is coming along is to call 1-866-ASK-MINI. They have the most current information. The owners lounge usually lags by a few days, and in some cases MINIs have already been loaded onto ships while the OL says "scheduled for production".
My MINI started production 9/22 and is scheduled to complete 10/2
OL says sheduled for production and shows production #, VIN, body color, and interior, but no options

Jenn,
I'm the same as yourself and DiD with respect to the OL and information given to me at ASK-MINI, scheduled completion of 10/4. Considering that my scheduled completion date is 2 days later than DiD, suppose it's possible he'll make one of the ships leaving 10/5 or 10/6, but I won't. We'll see....

ASK MINI is giving me a completion date of Oct 1, so maybe I can make one of the earlier shipping dates. But it may not make much difference to me as I will be out of state the first two weeks of November and would not be able to pick it up even if it does arrive very late in October. Oh, well. I've been waiting over two years to get my MINI so another two weeks is no big deal.

Ah, just checked, looks like the Trianon is also going through Charleston. There are actually two vessels leaving Southhampton for Charleston on the 10/5--the other vessel is the Courage.
Pulling the thread further, the Maersk Wind is also going through New York. Looks like us West-Coasters don't get any direct flights.

JCW Production slippage
It has been noted by at least one person that cars with the JCW factory option have been slipped to week 45. I contacted my MA and she got back to me today stating that my JCW MCS, originally scheduled for week 40, is now listed for week 42 (Oct 17-23) and "it is in a 112 status which means it is very close to production and the dealer won't be able to make changes."
So that means a 2 week delay for my car. Now looks like mid-November delivery to Ohio. I will start watching the week 42 group -- good luck to all of you lucky folks still in week 40.

I'm in the same boat as you (hopfully a literal statement as well as figurative) On the OL, I have a VIN with the color scheme and "Scheduled for Production". With a call to ASK MINI, the automated system has 10/3 as the completion date.

We really wanted the driving lamps, but....daaaammmmn.....900-something dollars installed. If I get motivated enough, I'll install some aftermarket lamps. Otherwise, just mundane stuff like floor mats, a foot rest, valve stem caps and rubber (boot) mats for the dog.
We're getting the 15" delta-spokes, which have an uncanny resemblance to the wheels on my wife's (recently sold) '96 Miata.

Status Update:
As of this morning, my MINI was in the body shop (normal) and headed for paint. Still holding to a 10/2 complete date.
BTW, I don't know about the rest of you but my best updates have come from dealing with Tony (I think, I'm so bad with names ) at ext. 6292 (the extension is right for sure though).
