Production Week 38 (09/19/05)

Well,

This is my first post, I'm Paul I've been looking at mini's since I heard about them in 01, My wife and I finally decided to take the plunge last saturday 09/10/05, We bought an DS/B MCS, with sport, premium, convenience, and rear fog, from Momentum in Houston, dealt with Lee and Will I called today and much to my surprise we are schedule to build next week. I'm sure my wife and I will be on here much for the next few years. It seems so welcoming here.

So now what do I do? I wait, and complain about waiting.

Paul

That's the same day I ordered my first Mini.

Did you have to call to get your VIN or will my dealer contact me?

I placed my order August 24th and I am still "on order" online, but "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date" on the phone. No vin, no options listed on the website. Is this normal?

The web site stays woefully behind the phone status. You'll transition from "scheduled for production" to "in production" to "in the body shop" to "in the paint shop". (That's as far as I've gotten. )

You get the VIN about the same time your status goes to 'in production'. I still don't have any options listed, although the interior upholstery showed up after I was 'in the body shop'.

As for why you may just be scheduled, possibly you ordered some option that was not available until week 40 (such as the JCW package?).

I ordered a Royal Grey MC, automatic w/ DSC. Chrome int and ext, H/K sound system, premium and convience packages, silver roof and xenon headlights. Are any of these things starting late?

I wouldn't think so.
