New to MINI

Im lookin for a new car; I've been looking around for a while, because my 68 Mustang is too unreliable. Im a huge fan of BMW and after being on DTMPower for a while I talked to someone about MINIs and thought it was a great idea. I mean they're quick, have good handeling, well priced, the only bad thing is my parents dont seem as thrilled as me. They think its too small, but a test drive will cure that. I want to get a dark silv. w/ blk stripes 6 sp MCS sport package, prem. package...I have done some research and cant wait to start motoring!!!

My parents had the same problem when I wanted mine. However, I explained that it was pointless to have a big car when I usually drive alone or with one passenger. Also, I pointed out that if I really like the car, then I would take really good care of it, whereas if I got a normal car, it would get really crapped up. Luckily, I had my sister to use as an example so they understood what crapped up means.

good luck getting it.

You might also refer to the MINIUSA literature on safety (sophisticated structural design, multiple air bags, emergency handling ability) because BMW had to overcome many people's worries about driving or riding in such a "small car". It's actually quite heavy for its size. And it is definitely safer than a 68 Mustang.

Morknmini just slipped you your trump card. Have THEM drive your Mustang over to do a test drive in a Mini.

I know believe me

Ok...believe me I know the minis are safer but the problem is my mom has no idea what the difference between a crumple zone and a school zone are... she doesnt realize that if i got into a wreck in the mustang the car would be in better shape than me; whereas is the mini, the car might be totalled, but i would be alive. She is a real proponent of the "bigger is safer" idea...she wants a H3-by the way
