I've been trolling around NAM as I gear up to join the MINI family when I take delivery of my first brand new car, an 05 MCS, "Malibu Stacy", on 10/10. I'll be picking her up from Dreyer & Reinbold in IN and road-tripping back to CA with my little bro, who already has much MINI experience. He had an 03 MCS, "Homer" (R.I.P. - yes folks, it IS possible to roll a MINI, so if you like to motor hard, invest in a racing harness and USE IT) and now sports an 05 MCS, "Snowball II".
In October 04, he and I participated in The Italian Job event, driving a 1969 Morris Mini pickup, "Luigi". What a trip! You can view my photos here: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pi...?id=2253640093. We also went to AMVIV2 in March of this year (though sans MINI, since Homer was totaled just the previous weekend).
Anyway, wrapping it up... you can see photos of Malibu Stacy on My Space: http://spaces.msn.com/members/batgirlwildcat/, and read about our Italian Job adventure on our website: http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~jensenmj.../Plan%20B.html (if the archive links don't work and you really want to read my stuff, PM me).
Cheers!

Welcome to NAM
I flew out to NYC to take delivery of my MINI back in '02 and then road tripped back to Denver (where I lived at the time). It was great way to take delivery since the break-in period was over by the time I got back.
It must be hard knowing your car is already there waiting for you at the dealer.:impatient

batgirlwildcat,
You need to contact us at www.westcoastminiclub.org . We have a lot of fun and most of us are in the San Diego, Lakeside, Lemon Grove, Poway area. We get together once or twice a month and have FUN.

Done and thanks!! I was hoping once I posted the San Diego clan would track me down, since I was having a bit of trouble trying to determine exactly who they are and how to reach them. Too bad I won't have Malibu Stacy in time for British Car Day. I went last year (my folks have an MG-T). But Rolling British Car Day will be a go!
