I couldn't find an existing thread for this week, so I'm starting it. This is where we can all join together, hold hands and sing "Kum By Yah" as we wait for out little darlings to be born!

My (unnamed) MCS will be DS/DS with cloth, anthracite headliner & dash, MFSW, bum warmers, fog lights and H/K. That's it. No silly roof, no fancy wheels (they'll come later without those lousy run-flats) and no dead cow skin.

Oh, yeah, I've already started ordering accessories... got Ian's one-touch up window kit, I've got my eyes on different intakes, and looking at some guage options as well. And of course, new wheels and tires. And driving lights.

I just called my dealer and in scheduled for this week Im soo excited! Mid december delivery!

Actually he was from Cannon Falls Minnesota and he moved to Utah and then suddenly got a job with a video game studio that plucked him from the desert and deposited him in Lyon France (where he fell in love with the mini)

Ergo when the CEO of said studio finally got his papers in order to open a branch of said studio in Austin TX and leaped back across the pond...well, the employee was only to happy to assist with such mundane US emigration obstacles as: real estate agent introduction, health insurance advice and (of course) the lending to the CEO of the family's Ford Expedition.

*Ahem*

Oh no! Oh wait! That...that means when the family gets back to the US their only car (Expedition) will be in TX!...1450.44 miles (roughly) from South Jordan UT (according to Mapquest). Since the employee sold his Chevy Metro (a model he's been driving faithfully due to an obsessive and oppressive conscience) there is no possible way the entire family will fit in the inevitable Uhaul truck required to carry a 10'x10'x10' storage unit worth of furniture down to Austin TX! They...they'll have to buy another car!

September 2005: call Mini of Murray UT. (I recommend Skype[tm] for cheap internet telephony that works.) Place order with one Debbie Linge Sales Manager. Muck about transfering funds from France. Choose Black Eye Purple.

A couple weeks pass.

Later in month, stop into dealer and inspect large glossies of the illustrious Park Lane[tm]. Rush home. Call one Debbie Linge. Change color to Royal Grey with silver top and add as much chrome as money will buy. Breathe easier.

October 10, 2005: finally join owner's lounge. Am stunned to discover Royal Grey Mini S is built and already awaiting transport.

Am distressed that the car will make it to UT before I will. Recount order: Royal Grey Mini S, Sport Package, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package (silly for Austin TX, but I've always wanted heated seats), chrome line exterior, Driving lamps for the accessories.

Feel guilty and self indulgent. Try to reassure self that self has worked hard as it feels self has worked.

Hope a major earthquake does not hit Murray UT between time self's cooper S arrives at dealer and Dec. 19th when self actually arrives stateside to pick said cooper S up.


Self ponders possibility that video game design has made him totally obessive and crazy, but reflects that such might be entertaining to others.

My MINI's completion date, per the automated version of 866-ASK-MINI today, is Nov. 1st, so I dunno if that makes me week 43 or 44. If 43, then add me to the list

You guys got me motivated, so I called this morning, and my lovely little dark silver babee is scheduled to be completed on October 30.

I'm thrilled to say I'm joining your group! I called AskMini this morning and was told that my MINI is in production and scheduled to be complete by Oct 28th!!! Somehow I moved up a week and will now hopefully will have my MINI in time for Thanksgiving and our trip to the mountains!!!
Guess I better get ordering all the goodies I've been thinking about.

I just checked mine because I wanted to see if my order details were in yet and while I was scrolling through what did my eyes behold but.....
MY MINI IS AWAITING TRANSPORT
I'm not sure if this is how it normally progresses, but when I looked Monday it said in production with a completion date of Oct. 28th, and here it is finished a whole week early? YIPPPEEEEE, is all I can say. This is great because today is my daughter's birthday, so that will make it really easy to remember.
I wonder if it will have to sit around a long time waiting for a ride home, or are there regularly scheduled ships.
Oh, my now I'm getting nervous. I still haven't ordered all the goodies, I need to finish my new parking area so I can have a spot for the PT and the MINI, I need to get my Zaino order sent out next week, just a million things to do to get ready

I guess I am with you guys, not Week 45, Automated says I have a Nov. 1 completion date and in the "body shop" now, that's a long paint job. I think I'll be up and motoring before the end of the month, unless left to sit on the dock for a month or so. Our sales guy here says they have a lot of Minis coming in about the same time. Might push our delivery back, but he can't say anything for sure about that. Look at Week 45 thread, it has ship departures for all of Nov... coool

How did you find that? Can you lead me to the east coast shipping info??
I'm guessing mine will come into Charleston to get to Atlanta. I think I also saw an old thread where you can see what is on the ship by VIN when you get to that point.

I ordered mine at September and dealer said I'm lucky to get in the last few October production. She (the sales rep.) also said to me it should arrive end of November, early December. Which production am I in? I know that when I ordered, it was the starting point, as she stated, of '06 productions and no more '05s.


My Mini by the way is a: MCSa06CR/B
Kinda weird trying to figure out how put my car in codes as everyone has been doing.

 

Where are you guys finding all of this information? If I go to the mini owner's lounge, it just says "scheduled for production". When I call askmini, it says "in production".

If you call ASKMINI, you need to choose the option to speak to a rep. Their info is much more current than the automated feature.

I finally found out that I am on week 43 as well,started on the 20th and will be ready on Nov 3.Anybody else here has a checkmate on order?

 

 

I have a Hyper Blue Checkmate JCW, Chrome interior/exterior & armrest. JCW strut bar to be installed upon delivery. I was pushed back to week 45 because of JCW delays. Now I have been moved up. My production date is Oct 18th and completion date is Nov 3rd . In time to catch the 11-8-05 boat to California. I hope.

 

Somehow the checkmate is not selling well in the US,my dealer said I was the first one to order one,some people dont like the wheels but I think in person they look just fine.I have seen a couple space blue so far at the dealer,and the color is kind of dark and maybe borrowing for some which makes it perfect for me,I dont like to draw attection from the cops since I always speed.

I just got screwed!

I called ASK-MINI today to check my status and thought "Maybe I'll confirm the spec... just to make sure that everything is OK." It's a good thing I did!

My MA mis-ordered my roof color!!!

I was going PW/PW (with painted arches, once I get the car) for a very Euro look and they selected a black roof! The only thing worse than this would have been not checking and finding out in December that they had to re-order the car and that I had another 2 months to wait!

I strongly recommend that you all call ASK-MINI and confirm your colors and options with a real person.

 

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I have been on vacation in Detroit for the last 5 days.

To get the dates you need to go to the WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN web site and search for the right ports of call. Here is all the info for all the ports they ship to for MINI USA. (I stole this from the week 45 because i have to make an appointment It starts 1 shipment behind any that our cars could make, but it gives you a good idea if your car misses the boat.)
