A little bit about me and my new MINI

Hello everybody,

I have had my 05 blk/blk MCS w/LSD for about 2 1/2 months and I have to say that I am very happy. I bought the car primarily for its autocross prowess, unaware of just how cool the car was.

I have been autocrossing for 1 year and I am hooked. I drove every car I could talk my way into over the last year and my favorite for the $ was by far the MCS. All I have been able to afford to do so far has been to buy tires and rims. Otherwise my mini is as delivered. The rims, Rota slipstreams, were found through my only other post so far on this forum. My first set of R compounds (Hoosiers, the wrong tires as Mark C. put it) came in the mail two weeks before the Nationals at Topeka. I managed to finish 14th in GS open. Not bad for my first National. I am anxiously waiting to see what happens to the MCS in regards to the whole GS, DS, “B.S.”.

My next set of tires will be the 710s. If any one wants to offer any advise on what my next move should be feel free to give it.

P.S.
Tent camping without a rainfly in a thunderstorm is a bad idea. The tent in the picture was purchased about 3 am Thursday morning. I wonder if a good nights sleep would have helped. Hmmm?

Wishing I could be in DC for the GS showdown this weekend.

A very happy MINI owner

I think there is a thread over in the racing section that says 2005's are staying GS. Great job for your first national!
