06 Minis has no Autodown via KeyFob?
Hi, I heard from somewhere that the 06 no longer has the ability to lower windows/open sunroof via the remote keyfob? Can someone verify this?
I tested with my 06 mini, with 3 know ways to do it it all turn out non-existen.
1. using the remote keyfob by press the remote key three times and hold it there... test result : nothing.
2. using the key turning left to unlock all doors and then again to open windows and sunroof. test result ; nothing.
3. hoding the central lock switch in the console : test result : nothing.
My dealer told me there is a "software upgrade' for 2006 model... but so far I heard nothing from my dealer.
If someone can confirm the rumor that would be great... if it's truth, I think it's time we start a class action lawsuit again BMW.
Better yet forced them to enable the one touch up, windows buttons.

Force them to enable the one-touch up windows? Have you thought that there might be a reason that they don't have that enabled in the litigation-crazy and safety-conscious US? If you want to do that after-market, check out Ian's Circuit.
Also, as to whether the '06s are supposed to have the convenience opening feature, check your owners manual. I forget the page number in the '05, but if it's there in the '06 manual then at least you have another point for discussion with your dealer.
Or, were you just looking to vent/rant and stir things up a bit on a slow Wednesday and don't really need any suggestions?

my '06 has autodown windows with the keyfob
I requested this be programmed by the dealer prior to taking delivery. I can get the windows to go down by unlocking via the keyfob, press unlock bitton again and hold - the first time it seemd I had to hold the button a LONG time. I also have gotten the windows to go down (sunroof open) and close via the key in the door lock. Have not tried using a toggle button - I always forget to close the sunroof (always as in the past 9 days) and close it via the lock. I'll try the lock toggle.
new software update? Not heard that one, mayb that will fix my CVT shifting oddness.

OK, here's what Magoo does. Keyfob one time, drivers door unlocks, second time passengar. Hold down unlock, and in a couple of seconds both windows go down and sunroof opens.
Put key in door and turn to left(?) and windows go up and sunroof closes. You have to be outside to do this.
BTW, Magoo is an '06.

Convenience open works fine on my '06
The "convenience open" on the key fob works fine on my '06.
I was opening it that way in the parking lot tonight and my son opened the door before the top was all the way down. The top instantly stopped and a red light flashed on the main top down switch. For a while, nothing seemed to work. We stood there like idiots trying to figure out what to do.
Finally the top went all the way down and things were back to normal.

I was going to try it out but then I realized my car cover was on

Actually, that was rather funny. ![LOL](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
I for one agree with separation of church and state. However, like I hope that religious people won't push religion down my throat, I won't push my beliefs down theirs either. So far it has worked.
So, I found it profoundly funny.![LOL](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
