New "used" mini owner with an ECU question
I bought my 2003 Indie Blue checkered roof Cooper 2 months ago and have relied heavily on NAM member postings to guide me to useful upgrades (which include "lighter" rims and low profile tires, bonnet stripes, K&N Short Ram Intake, Screamin Demon Coil, upgraded plug wires and NGK Iridium plugs). Hopefully an MTH upgrade and Borla Exhaust aren't far off (as a former RX-8 owner I kinda got used to some "giddy-up")
Last week my battery died (which is a bit of an ordeal when the nearest MINI dealer is 2 hours away), which led to an "E" reading when I scan the ECU. The car runs fine, but I am thinking that resetting the ECU will clear this. I wonder a). how do you perform this? and b). am I better off taking the long trip to the dealer and having them clear the code?
Any advice is welcomed!
