New to the site! Ordering an 06' MCS this spring!

Hello everyone, I am fairly new to the site and have been lurking quite a bit for some time as I am planning on ordering an 06' MCS for my wife this spring. I drive a 1997 Integra Type R which is another very capable FWD car, however much different than the Cooper S in that it is torqueless , but has better brakes.

My wife currently drives a 99' VW Beetle 1.8T and we are both sick of that Piece of crap.

Here is what I am thinking after configuring the car about 50,000 times We wanted black, but after seeing pictures of the new black, we have ruled it out as it appears to have a lot of blue in it(Dont get me wrong, it looks like a great color---just not for us). Maybe we will change our mind if we see it in person.

06' Mini Cooper S
6 speed manual transmission
Pepper White/Black top/Black Bonnet Stripes
Space grey/black cloth seats
Anthracite interior
Sport Package
LSD
Multi-function steering wheel
Rear fog light
Aero Package
Driving Lamps

I think this comes out to about $26,700 or so including the installation cost of the Aero Kit and Driving lamps.

What do you thinK??

I think we will place our order in February-March or so as we are currently building a house and we would like to get settled in the house first.

sounds like a fantastic car! just be sure to get full labor quotes from your dealer on the driving lights and aero kit before you start figuring your money. both installation and tax are left out of the finance calculator.

I'm also going to suggest that you check your area for local MINI meets and go and check some out! it will make it harder to wait, but can help if you have any options you're waivering on and haven't seen in person at the dealer!

About the driving lights

Thanks, I think it will be great and I'm sure I'll want to borrow it from the wife from time to time.

I have checked out a few of the Mini's at the Auto-x's and have gotten a full labor quote from the dealer. That is a good point though because when I first started to spec our cooper S, I didn't realize how much more the extras cost with installation.

Pepper White Aero kits are available pre-painted so it was a lot cheaper than some of the other colors. I think with paint the Aero-kit runs more like $2,900

Aero-Kit installed price = 2,169.84
Driving Lamps = 714.88

Both seem a bit expensive but we do prefer the look and if your gonna order one, mines well get exactly what we want

Welcome to NAM. Love that color combo (it was not offered when I bought my 03 MCS)

As per the above clip I'll bet that only happens one or two times before your calling the dealer back saying I want another one.

lol!!! I don't know, the Integra type R is quite a fun car too! Maybe, dare I say more fun! I do wish it had more useable power in town. Instead, I have to rap it out to 8400rpms to get all of the power out of it.

I haven't driven an 05-06' Cooper S yet. The one that I test drove was an 04' 40th anniv. Monte Carlo Edition MCS

Welcome to NAM!

To save a few bucks, dump the OEM lights and just buy aftermarket. You will save half the money
