New to the Mini world

and I just picked up my first one today. A MCS PW/ B, black stripes on hood, English Panther black leather seats. Premium package and sport package with the S-lite wheels. And all I have to say is, I love this freakin car.

I'm a vw guy at heart and sold my '98 Jetta GLX to get it, which was a hard thing todo. I'm always on vwvortex, but I guess it's time to make the switch over here. I had the Jetta over 4 years. But just driving the Mini makes that all disappear. Now I can honestly say I know how you guys feel after owning one. I'll get pics up tomorrow.

My first impressions, the english leather seats are sooo nice. This was the first mini sold from this dealer with them in it. I wasn't sure I wanted another car with leather but these are so soft and comfortable. The Xenon headlights are outstanding. I just love all the little convience gadgets this car has. Radio vol. control on the steering wheel is nice.

I actually got a wave from another mini owner while on the drive home from the dealer, kinda funny.

I'll stop rambling now.

Thanks for reading,

John

Welcome John, looking forward to the pics. I've had my MCS for a couple weeks now, haven't got a wave from anyone and agree about the Xenons. My wife told me to get them and she was absolutely right, they are one of my favorite accessories - those and the heated seats.

I'm a former VW owner too, but I was into air-cooled buses.

Thanks, yeah I couldn't imagine not having those headlights. I'll always have at least 1 vw, still have my '81 rocco in the garage

Vento9,

Welcome to NAM and the MINI world

I have owned a VW in the past, like in 1965, as well as a lot of other makes and models of cars but NOTHING compairs to the MINI.

Enjoy it

Earl

Quick question for those with the center arm rest, does it interfer with shifting at all? Also best place to get them, other then the dealer.

I am waiting on a ery similar car except for i got a chrome grille. the leatherette and silver dash. I left out the armrest but now regret it after sitting in a Mini with one. It actually makes shifting nicer as you can rest your elbow on it. I'm sure it can be added after the fact so talk to your dealer

I have the armrest and I agree with Jrzy, it is perfectly situated. When my arm is resting on it, my hand is right over the shifter. I don't even lift my arm, just flick my wrist to get the next gear. Well, ok, reverse is a different story, I'm still trying to find that gate easily...

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

My first mod was taking the airbag sticker off the passenger side dash.
