Saw a liquid yellow MC on the side of the road close to the entrance for 33. Was it you?
I have been home 10 mins now and I want to get back out on the road!
On a sad note, the gap below the headlight between the bonnet and the bumper on the drivers side is about the width of the remote, on the passenger side it is about the width of the key flat.
I think I am gonna have to talk to my MA and see whats wrong there hopefully, nothing too serious.
Also there was a key mix up at delivery, a couple who had taken delivery the previous night ended up with one of my keys. So I have only one key to my MINI right now, so I have it handcuffed to my wrists right now, lest I lose it!
Hey ravana, I noticed the EXACT same thing about the bonnet on my car when I was checking it over tonight.....
After taking a peak under the bonnet for the heck of it and giving it a good SLAM shut, everything lines up nicely now
I think the bonnet was not shut correctly after my MA went over everything under the hood on Saturday....

Excellent!!
Flow threw in free floor mats for me, other than the key chain, that was all the freebies I got, but the delivery was painless...
One horrifying moment, we're in the middle of the delivery in the showroom, we've gone over everything inside and outside the car, I'm standing a few feet away going over the manuals and such with my MA when this behemoth of a woman walks up to my car....opens the door ( by the window ) and plops herself down in my car
I thought I was going to have a stroke.....
Moral: Make sure the car is locked in the showroom if you aren't looking in it.....

ROFL. That's hysterical. I would have liked to have seen that conversation.
Which mats did you get?

I kept my cool pretty much just matter of factly said "excuse me but thats my car...."
My MA was obviously embarassed as well, he walked over to the car, escorted the lady over to the desk and said someone would be glad to help her "over there"....he then promptly locked my car....
As for mats....
One of the tougher decisions actually He gave me my choice on the carpeted vs the all weather rubber, I ended up going with the all weather...
I like the look of the carpeted ones but they tend to get worn out and ratty looking in my experience and the all weather ones are easier to clean....plus they still look nice particularly with my black/dark interior...

Horns
The other day me and a couple friends realized that we need to start embracing the car horn...we let too many idiot drivers off without a honk. After looking into it a little, I've found a general dissapointment of the horn in the MINI, and decided to purchase an aftermarket horn. I ended up getting two Stebel Nautilus Series compact twin air horns, which will push 142 dB combined!
Here's a couple excerpts from TwistedThrottle.com's review:
To hear an audio sample of the horn, go to www.stebel.it ... it's under Products > Elettropneumatics > Nautilus Series. Unfortunately their website doesn't have an audio sample of the compact version that I got, just the standard size, but Adventurer's Workshop told me in an email that they sound very similar and produce the same volume.
Needless to say, I can't wait to test these suckers out... Reactions should be pretty comical.
Here's a couple excerpts from TwistedThrottle.com's review:
Black dual-tone air horn from Stebel of Italy. Loud enough to convince other drivers that there's a derailed freight train barrelling down on them. Don't press the horn button in the garage, it hurts! At 139dB it can be heard for almost 3 city blocks! YEEEOOOWWW!
With the Stebel air horn, there's no doubt that people can hear me. When I tried them outside of TwistedThrottle.com's warehouse, everyone in the warehouse (as well as two of our neighbors) came outside to see what was going on. These horns are really freakin' LOUD.
Michael, our warehouse manager, affectionately calls these horns "People Deafeners".

yeah, yeah.,..yesterday was my wife's BD and at work we are gearing up for a trade show...so sadly, no free time for a bath & pics. Hopefully this weekend!
and yeah, the sig needs help too!
good news is, almost to 350 miles. Not really a lot, but i have not had time for a fun run yet. Soon.

Ok, it's dirty and still has stock rims, but here are some initial shots:

so I figured having been moved to 'en route' status just before Christmas, I'd be seeing my car pretty soon. I was told by a representative of the dealership that it takes about 3 weeks from the time it sets sail to when I can take delivery. But now I'm being told the earliest possible date is January 20. I have to wait for it to ride the boat an extra 80 miles north to Oxnard for some reason instead of having it delivered from ports in LA or San Diego, which are about 3 and 80 miles from the dealership, respectively, and 3 and 7 days earlier on the shipping itinerary. I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but I'm left with nothing but conjecture and frustration. That's a whole week longer than I've been anticipating.

I was thinking it was something to do with the trade show.

Cliff, thanks again for helping her out, she was thrilled!
I'm sure i'll be over at some point to chat MINI & trade more cash for parts!
Color was a hard call, i went back & forth from pure silver to dark silver, thinking that there was no way i would go royal without a black roof. Then I saw one up at ottos & the deal saw sealed!
I'm at about 375, so far, haven't had the time to really rack them up.... It had 24 at delivery (trip to cavallo for the aero grill) My wife's had 7!
