I made it to the dock a day earlier then many of you and I STILL missed some of the previous boats but am FINALLY getting onboard the Integrity with the rest of you.

 

Well, I know y'all are unhappy to have been waiting around so long ... but it's nice that many of us will (hopefully) be on the same boat!

Bummer that overnight the Integrity has been delayed another day between Belgium to the UK. But in any case, as of this morning (US time) it had passed Braakmankeek, which is more than halfway between Antwerp and Zeebrugge.

Just checked the Booking Number output, and thankfully, do not have an asterisk next to my VIN. Does anyone know how they decide which vehicles are put on wait list status?

 

What is this wait list and why is one put on it?

I was finally calm knowing that I'm on the Integrity but this silly asterik has me worried again

 

This Booking Number discovery is great!!! Now I need to find someone who can actually track their vehicle on the Liberty, and get their booking number to sift through that list!!

 

Perhaps your MINIs ran up large bar bills and won't be released until the bill is paid. Seriously, it stinks seeing your baby sit in port for so long. Emma was there on 1/25 and was assigned to the Boheme on 1/26 - she hung out for about a week waiting to be loaded on board a ship. I'd love to know what this mysterious wait list status is. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of you to indeed get on board the Integrity. Best of luck.

Noticed a general trend (not absolute) on the Booking Number output:

If your VIN was received at terminal 1/28 through 2/1, then you appear to be affirmatively booked on the Integrity.

If your VIN was received before 1/28 or after 2/1, then you appear to be wait listed.

EDIT: Based on the output above, it is clear that I am wrong about the trend.

My guess - and this is JUST a guess - is that as a logisitics company, they don't want to create systematic delay throughout the whole network by continuously bumping each car. My guess is that they try to keep as many cars on time as possible by delaying a few.

Here's some text from the MINI2 vehicle tracking FAQ:
"However, if any one part is just a little off, a series of delays may begin. This may start with the MINI spending a week or more waiting at the factory grounds in Oxford before being shipped by train to the docks in Southampton. Once at the docks, a MINI may quickly get aboard a ship, or it may play the waiting game, being scheduled to board a ship, only to be pulled off and stuck waiting for the next available ship. This is because some of the MINIs are 'waitlisted' by the shipping company, and may be bumped only to go back to 'waitlisted' status, trying for space available on the next ship."

Oh! And the Integrity is making good progress. Latest update has it cruising past Vlissingen Harbor. Woohoo!

I sorted the list of VINs by the date they were received at the terminal, in descending order.

Looks like the *'s don't have too much of a pattern ... We needs some statistics expert to do some analysis on the list

 

I really wish I knew more specifics on what delays an order (at factory or port) vs. what can rush through quickly. I keep looking at our orders trying to find trends

For example...
Body Color Roof - Doesn't need a second round in the paint shop, thus it should take less time
NAV - Perhaps more complicated to install?
Convertible - roof takes more time to install??

I'm also thinking that those of us who are getting off in Charleston intentionally weren't on the ships that stopped in NY first THEN moved onto SC. The Integrity takes a direct route to SC. Perhaps with the earlier ships they only wanted NY MINIs so that they could get 'em all off then continue on their way. Who knows. I just have nothing better to do than make up wierd theories.

Good point. I'm sure they have some ridiculous algorithm to decide what the most efficient cargo load for any particular voyage would be. It would take into account how long they lay over at a particular port, etc.

I want to figure this one out.. what's similar between us? Both from Classic MINI. Both MCS. Did you try to get space cloth and have it changed to gray leatherette?

Won't the people at Classic be surprised when delivery day for our cars turns into a mini NAM meet!!! No pun intended....over at rangerpowersports.com , we would call a few members meeting up a mini meet...over here is that a mini MINI meet??.....and I digress.......

A multi-state mini-MINI meet! Although, I imagine we will end up being spread out over a few days. A couple of us are flying in and I will probably end up being a few days behind because I have tint and the JCW suspension being installed at the dealer.

 

In an odd twist of reality, the OL now says I'm en route! Is it just that the WW site is the only site on the planet who's status lags the Owner's Lounge?

I haven't heard back from my MA, so is my MCS still in MINI limbo? Or am I actually on the DON CARLOS?

Can someone who can see all the cars booked on the DON CARLOS see if my VIN is there? TL20734

My '02 MCS is SOLD!

I was starting to get nervous about having two MINIs!!

 

We need VINs from people who are confirmed to on the Don Carlos, and the Liberty. Heeeeeeeeeelllllllllooooooooooooooo?
