Production Week 4 Support Group

Wow, that was amazing timing for you, Larkin. I placed my order on 12/30, went into production on 1/16 with a completion date of 1/27. My mini went into the paint shop on 1/22 and as of 10:10 A.M. today, is still hanging out in the paint shop. Steffanie, I wonder if you and I got delayed a bit because we originally placed the order with gray spacecloth only to find out that the supply had run out. I hope that I like the gray/black leatherette (I have had cloth seats forever!). Larkin, have you entered your VIN at the shipping tracking URL: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do ?

Well
Looks like my projections were correct.
Looks like my Mini Cooper S will be riding on the Maersk Tide and hitting shores in South Carolina on the 4th of February. Quicker than I ever thought.
Anyone else on this boat?? Looks like a lot of you are gonna be on the Liberty. I now agree that when Ask-mini tells you the completion date, it is more than likely the date your car will set sail.

Timing is everything......it creates good fortune for some and disappointments for others. My order went in on Dec. 14 just in time for the halt in production. Getting updates and hearing about the progress of other's makes the waiting alot more fun. But, what's really important is that in another month we'll ALL be motoring.....and it's just around the corner!

I couldn't stop myself from calling ASK MINI. The automated service said I was still in the paint shop. The real person said I was in the paint shop but since I'd been there since Monday, I'd likely moved onto early assembly.

Anyone else have theirs already named?
Mine is Grimace.. after:
I actually hate McDonalds but I was testing out names and mentioned Grimace and it just kind of stuck. People have been calling him that ever since.

That just fits so well with your color scheme . My wife came up with Emma from Emma Peel of the 60's British TV show 'The Avengers'. My garage will be chock full of blue Minis in a couple of weeks! You might find that your Grimace makes it to the port tomorrow as you were one day behind Emma I think (1/16 start for Emma, 1/17 for Grimace). Best of luck.

I found out today that my CR/W MCS is in final assembly and should be completed as early as tommorrow. This waiting is just killing me. Does anyone know how long it typically takes from completion to be loaded onto a boat. The DON CARLOS is leaving on the 1/31 for the west coast and I am hoping that mine is on it.
Thanks,
Shane
