Called ASK MINI and went analog. The live human told me I was in the paint shop -- correct for about halfway through the 10 days. She also told me that 2 days from Oxford to Southampton to a ship was nuts. Just expect to be on the next boat.

I've decided to be in denial, and listening to Gabe @ MotoringFile who said that they were ramping up to one-car-per-minute throughput at the factory. Go, Oxford, go!

Just checked the shipping website and Emma is booked for the Boheme leaving Southampton on 2/1 and arriving in NY on 2/10. Guess the Liberty is already filled up - bummer , no baby pictures on board. Maybe a bunch of us will be on the Boheme together and we can track it together. Good news is that the shipping company acknowledges they have Emma and she is progressing on her way to me.

..

Just talked with my Motoring Advisor. She said that since it arrives in South Carolina on the 4th that she should recieve it in Kansas City by the 10th and we should be able to pick up our MCS on Saturday the 18th. I ordered on January 10th...haha. That puts my total order to pickup time right around 5-6 weeks.....lol Not bad. I think I got lucky though

Its amazing to think that my car exists somewhere out there!

I am sure I will be on the Boheme... a little more appropriate for my personality i think.

I just called and my MINI as of yesterday (1/25) has completed production and is awaiting to be released. So I am continuing to hope and pray that my MINI makes the DON CARLOS on 1/31.

My MINI now has a birthdate - 1/25/2006

Just talked to ASK MINI for the last time, they must be getting tired of hearing from me. I got GOOD NEWS!!!!! My car is completed and currently waiting at the port. I haven't got any info yet on the ship, so I'm not sure when it will go out, but it's done and ready to go!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that Grimace is a lazy bum. Everyone else seems to be moving swiftly through the production process and his butt is just merrily wandering along. I wonder if some components take longer to install than others?? Mines all one paint color too... he didnt even need to wait around for a differnt roof color. Crazy car. :impatient

It must be the purple paint . I wonder if they had to send someone out to hunt down some purple paint? My wife really loves purple but after all the problems she had with her one and only purple vehicle, she reluctantly went with the EB. I tried to tell her that Minis go for bright, different colors and it would be all right but...
Hopefully your Grimace will make it to the dock in time for the Boheme - it doesn't leave until 2/1 and it holds 7000 cars. Emma is just hanging out at the dock - hope it is a good neighborhood and she behaves herself!

G8RMNI is on the Boheme!!

He is already checked-in on the ship and enjoying a martini!! According to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site he will arrive at the New York port the 10th of February. I am so excited!!!
Man, that was fast!! I was told by my MA that he wouldn't be done until the 28th of Jan. If this is a sign of things to come, G8RMNI is going to be a fast car!!!

First off, congrats on making it through production so quickly. However, not to rain on your parade, but the Boheme is not even in port in Southampton yet. It arrives on 2/1 and leaves the same day. Look at your cargo status carefully, it probably says 'received at terminal' and 'booked', nothing about a martini on board, yet . I only hope our Minis don't get into too much trouble with 5-6 days to kill before loading on the ship.

Mine is now showing up on the tracking site. Now I get to watch my little dot move slowly across the ocean. My MCS is on the Maersk Tide, Designated as MAERSK on the map. It has a long long way to go.

As mentioned elsewhere, production is apparently moving quickly these days.
I'm in the paint shop so it looks like I'll be out of the factory by Monday which is two days earlier than last predicted. I was originally scheduled for production on Jan. 18 and started production on Jan. 23.

Alright, is your MINI a new addition or replacing another car?

Me, I am selling my highly modded '03 silver WRX. A very fun ride but in no way a roadtrip car. I am excited about driving the MINI - especially AutoXing it.

How about you?

Mine is a replacement for my 2003 Cooper and a new addition to keep my 2005 Audi A4 company.

I placed my order on 12/30 from Princeton Mini. Might just beat the price increase!
You'll beat the price increase since you ordered your MINI in December. I know for a fact that the price increase doesn't come into affect until March 1. The increase only affects people who order their car on March 1 or thereafter. If you order your car on February 28th, you won;t have to pay the increase. If you order it on the following day (the first of March), you'll have to pay the increase.

How did you find out the Boheme isn't in port yet?

Well ships typically arrive and deport in a very small timeframe becaus eit costs A LOT to sit in port. also I believe you can track all these ships around

Gr8mini:
Basically, from the same site that you got your tracking information, you can get the ship schedules. Go to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do
select 'Customer Centre' from the pulldown and you will see 'Schedules' as one of the options. Or use the direct link for schedules: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do

You can track by destinations or in our case, by ship name.
