Those California ships are pushing hard for the Canal Zone. Five years ago my best friend's son married a Panamanian girl. I went to the wedding in Panama City and was able to visit the Panama Canal which is surrounded by
a tropical rain forest with live gators. It was a neat experience and now I can envision the Don Carlos and the Don Pasquale with their CA bound Mini's aboard moving through the locks. My ship, the Boheme, stops in Halifax tomorrow and transfers it's cargo to the VDC in Newark on 2/10. Bon voyage!

I forgot one tiny little detail. When checking on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site if your VIN has a "*" after it this might mean it is cued up on the docks and will load on the next available boat and not the vessle that is shown. I re-checked this morning and my Cooper S didn't make it on the Jingu Maru (call letters JPPT) last night (as it was shown yesterday) but instead was bumped and now is scheduled to load onto the Tancred (call letters LALX4) which of course is not even due into Southampton until 14/02/2006. The wait is on again...
Resourceful links again...
1. Go here first, Wallenius Wilhelmsen site
>> http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do
and enter click on "Auto Cargo" on the right, then enter your VIN #
After this you can find your "Booking Number", "Vessle Name", "Voyage" (which is clickable) and search by these. If your VIN # has an asterik after it, chances are it is in the port of Southampton, UK but not physically loaded. Don't get cranky, your MINI isn't the only one that has to get loaded...
2. When you find your final Vessles Name, go here to find it's call letters, this will help you track it on the next steps >> http://www.world-register.net/index/A1.shtml
In my case, it is now the "TANCRED" on the "T" listings, page 3. Call letters are "LALX4"
3. You can try out the Live Radar link of Associated Port of Southampton, UK
>> http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/radcap.asp just refresh every five minutes or so.
4. Once out to sea, and armed with your Vessles name and call letters, you can try tracking by these resources
>> http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html
>> http://www.oceanweather.com/data/

In my case the asterisk disappeared almost at the last minute and the status immediately changed to 'loaded on vessel' from 'received at terminal'. Granted my car was booked later than most of the other vehicles on board, so looks to me they're boarded according to the order they're booked. Compare your booking time (or receiving time) with the rest and you can get a rough idea whether you can make it.
Just keep checking until the ship starts to move on the radar map.

WOW, third time is the charm for now... This morning I re-checked *again* and I'm now booked on the FREEDOM, scheduled for arrival to NY on the 21st - schweet!
I just sold my Porsche 944 last night...
...and the Toyota Tacoma 4WD is to sell tomorrow
Looks like I get to drive our company Land Rover Discovery I for the next few weeks. A "proper" British car tease prior to the Cooper S arriving. Kewl.

Alright now I am realy fried. On Monday, Betty was shown on the Integrity. It even showed the time of loading and what time it got to the docs. This was per the search with my vin#. Today my MA showed me that she is still on the docs waiting for the Freedom that hasn't sailed yet and doesn't even have a date to sail....

Booked on The CARMEN
Yahoo - WW now shows that my baby is booked on the Carmen which is currently scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme on 6Mar06. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it gets loaded on 12Feb when the Carmen arrives in Southampton. I'm hoping for two weeks or less turnaround from the VDC to the dealer. If so, I should have it by mid March.
For anyone thats interested, the booking number is SESTO402093
