I don't mind being put into a wk6 list, there will alway be lots of crossover due to ship schedule, delivery location, god knows what, etc, etc, let's all celebrate

Cube is supposed to hit land Thursday. My MA says I should have it next week. If it makes it out of the Vehicle Distribution center before Tuesday I might be able to go in and pay for it early to beat the $300 price increase.

My MINI has a stop in NY, Baltimore then Charleston, SC. From there a short truck ride to FL. I'm guessing March 6-7. Dealer is a nice hike so I need to plan on a weekend pickup. Also they need to get the pinstripes on.

Gah! You guys are making me so jealous since I still have ~20 more days on the boat and whatever else to go through the VPC plus a truck ride to Portland.

please post some pictures when they arrive so I have something to drool over.

Any one else besides Pjschaffer going to the west coast?

Bolus, don't worry you'll get your MINI.

Ok guys here's the scoop today. I talked with my MA this afternoon and the FREEDOM is still scheduled for arriving Thursday 2/23 into the port of NY. He most likely thinks that it should clear though VPC and get up to Keeler MINI on the 28 or the 1st. Then, they have to fit the aero front end, swap over the a/s tires to my extra BBS R90s and fit the JCW air intake

We discussed Friday 3rd as earliest for pickup and possibly making it the 6th-7th. Whew. I'm a total nutso about a car I haven't even seen yet, as most of you guys are also. We all must suffer from autophycosis or something like that.

"La Roux" (our "russet-red one"...) was was produced on either 2/3/06 or 2/4 and made it to Southampton on 2/6/06 Mon LATE 11:56pm, just missing the Jingu Maru, then having to wait (what's that ?) until 2/13 to load. Top it off the FREEDOM hasn't been on sailtrak (might be due to US gov carrier..? or just not VOS offering or both) and late by two days due to the storm in the Atlantic according to what WW shows. I hope all is well with this little bugger and received properly on Thursday.

Couple 'o thoughts...
Last minute, I'm thinking about the Aux input. Could I use this for my Palm T3 (I got it for free). I know, I know, I'm a diehard Mac person and figured out that since this T3 was free, I'll max it out. I can stuff a 1GB card in it, watch things on it , play mp3s, and keep my daughter happy with games. Good move? Can I install, or the dealer?

While I've been waiting, I made a few pages, you'll be intrigued.

Thompson, Thanks for posting the pictures. Very cool seeing the Southampton port that I've only seen from Google Earth.

Here's a DIY on the aux input:

From here:

(lots of good information)

I went for the ipod connector. Already have my playlist for the first drive ready. I'm pretty sure I'll have a seizure before it arrives at this rate

Personally I think that if you have a contract. They have to Honor that price. If not it would fall under the Bait and Switch laws. Check the fine print at the bottom and on the back. Does it have a clause about price increases?

I think if it is done correctly BMW should say Any sales written after March 1 will reflect the increase not when they trickle into port. I see this as hard to force on the consumer.

Nice! Playlist already... funny! Thanks for the kudos on the port of Southampton photos. Thanks to a fellow NAM'er I was able to find them on here somewhere - although I forget the actual thread. The MINI Challenge page will grow mucho larger. //ASC330i is donating all his race photos to the cause. Those little race cars are awesome - totally set-up as well.

Great DIY link for the Aux input! I'll do it myself, looks easy.

Officially the price increase is supposed to take effect based on when you take delivery of the car. When I sat down to order my car my MA flat out told me I would have to pay the increase because we thought I would get my car mid March. Since it is running early I may be able to beat it. So they are not trying to bait and switch in my case.

Just heard from my MA that the Phoenix Leader should make Port Hueneme on 11Mar06 give or take a day. He also estimated about 4 -7 days from the VDC to dealer in Santa Ana, CA. That means about 3 1/2 - 4 weeks to go.

So far I've purchased the following for the Mini.

mine's coming to the west coast, althrough through mini of the hamptons.

My MA (Jerry Halloran) hasn't even mentioned the price increase to me, and i actually got moved up a lot during the production / shipping process (I am a scheduled week 7). I guess he assumed it would be here or simply forgot to mention. Hopefully it never even gets brought up.

Phoenix Leaader

I got confirmation from my MA today that I'm on the Phoenix Leader with pjschaffer due at Port Hueneme on 3/11 or so. Since I have nothing else to obsess about, I tried to track down some more information about the ship.

Boy, there's not much info out there.

Here's a picture of the ship:
http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/200508/14...0_22553055.jpg

Using a website I found on one of the BMW boards ( http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151 ) I found out it loaded up a bunch of BMW's on 2/16/06 in Bremerhaven, Germany, stopped in Southampton to pick up our Mini's and is currently due in Port Hueneme on 3/12/06
http://img159.imageshack.us/my.php?i...eenshot1ae.jpg

It is about a day ahead of the Falstaff. I cant find it on any of the tracking sites so i estimated that it is currently somewhere around here:
http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pl2lw.jpg

Since the Falstaff is due in Panama on 3/4/06 I'm going to try and catch the Phoenix leader on the 3rd on AISLive
