Week 9 (March 3, 2006) Production Support Group

hi glennaa,
yeah you're definitely right ..
i'm looking forward till it's on the ship though, coz that's cool to track .. my dad has always been into ships and planes in a very big way. it's rubbed of on all of us in the family. We often track each other's flights online when one of us is travlling.. it's kinda cheesy My direct family is already split over three continents and we all travel a *lot* so it's an old habit that gives a sense of 'closeness'. (kinda wierd, i know ! hehe)
so i think it'll be fun to track the ship . it doesn't involve many random steps and wierd waiting intervals so not frustrating like tracking production ..
ok ok so i admit it.. i'm just trying to find an excuse to dodge work . hehe.

My status finally changed to "in the paintshop" and estimated completion date is still tomorrow. I thought it got painted first, but maybe it does make sense that painting is last.
According to my MA yesterday he thought I would ship in 4-8 days, then 7-10 days to cross the pond, and then 2-5 days to get through the VPC and be trucked down to VA from NJ. So, that corresponds to the boats on the 7th and 10th. 2-5 days to get off the boat and be trucked down seems like a pretty short amount of time. So I am holding out hope of picking my car up on the 23rd or 24th.

I was doing just fine too until I got my production number. After that I turned into an obsessed mini freak. Now I hate myself for not ordering back East and driving the car back. Oh well, at least I'll save a bunch on payments and interest

Great news tdm, thanks for the update. Did they say what shipping company/line the CA boat was on?
I entered my VIN on the Wallenius Wihelmsen website and nothing showed up. Maybe we're on an NYK boat?

There is a WW boat to CA on Wednesday. You can check the schedule on their website http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do
I am guessing I missed today's boat since no info shows up for my VIN.

glennaa11, that's why I'm thinking that maybe all of us west-coasters are on an NYK boat instead of WW. I would imagine that our VINs would be in the system by now if we're on tomorrow's WW boat.
If we do end up on tomorrow's boat, March 31 is the day it should arrive at the VPC.

Does anyone know the NYK schedule? I tried searching for Southampton to Port Hueneme on their website and came up blank. Do they use different ports?
For the record, the automated tracking at ASKMINI says my car is at the port of exit, with no shipping information available. My VIN is unknown at the WW tracking site.
