Offloading at the Cooper River!

FYI, found this closeup of the Union Pier in Charleston, SC while surfing for info on where Liberty is docking.

Nice to know they even named the river for our cars!

Arruuuggh! Don't know if the Liberty has off-loaded yet. The WW site is down. Any other Liberty-ites know yet?

Well, WW's site is back up, and it looks like mine hasn't been unloaded yet. They'd better hurry up if the Liberty's going to depart today.

Yep, I hope there is just a delay in updating the cargo status as I'm still not showing as unloaded. If you go to the port-of-charleston.com website, it show Liberty and Manon still docked.

If you look at WW's site on the voyage page it shows that it has sailed from Charleston. Here we are in that information vacuum. Not knowing if we're in the VDC or on a transport heading to the dealer.

Yeah, a bit frustrating...but it still amazes me how much visibility we have into their supply chain. I guess we can't expect 100% up to the minute data updates.

The miniusa website now shows me with an expected delivery date of 4/29, which is what my MA told me.

6 more days!

Hey, I'm thinking about going to the MOTD. Any other week 14'ers or Liberty shipmates planning to go? Might be cool to get a group photo...post ocean voyage reunion.

Well, the Port of Charleston vessel schedule doesn't show the Liberty as being docked anymore, so presumably our cars have been unloaded.

My first post with my own sign-on and screenname. Had to have my own cuz ever time I looked at a post of mine, it looked like I drove Bagheera. Can't wait to have pictures of MY PH/W in my signature line!!

Wow flankmank, you got off the boat early!!! You'll be through the VDC first I assume??

I finally show as discharged too:
DISCHARGEDCHARLESTON,SC23/04/2006 17:00LOADED ON VESSELSOUTHAMPTON07/04/2006 12:50RECEIVED AT TERMINALSOUTHAMPTON04/04/2006 00:00BOOKEDSOUTHAMPTON21/03/2006 12:32

Me and Clancy stayed on till the end it looks like

Snoogie, if my car gets to the dealer in time and I can schedule her pick up accordingly, I just might make it to MOTD. I'll be in the PH/W MCS with paper dealer plates from Classic MINI. I'll also have a vinyl "SkateMom" on my back window.

So it's coming near the end everyone. We should start seeing some deliveries out of this final Liberty group

on getting your own tag. I actually use this one which is my hubbie's but he never posts so I haven't bothered to create my own!

I am excited to get off the ship so quickly! I heard there might be some issues with the cabrios coming over (on the Cabrio board) and this may cause a delay at the VDC. I am hoping that is not true. hope, hope, hope!!!

Got my delivery date!

Just spoke with Mike at Classic and he said my MINI will be there on Saturday 4/29! The soonest I'm gonna be able to fly back there is Wed 5/3, but looking more like the 4th.

Gotta get my programable options over to him and get the rest of my ducks in a row. Wooo Hoooo! It's getting close now!

Skatemom,

Congrats on the impending arrival...I thought you'd be interested to know that although I decided not to take delivery of the MCS I had on order, I have been checking up on its progress and its STILL at the port! Its been there since April 5th, and this has been confirmed by ASK-MINI. So thats a grand total of 20 days waiting for a vessel...looks like the universe is confirming that I made the right financial decision.

If I was going to take the MCS, I'd be pretty upset right about now...luckily whomever does purchase it from the dealer won't have to go through this!

Have fun with your new MINI soon!

Suzanne,

It's been said that the cars that are pre-sold get priority and move through the system faster than the ones that are just gonna sit on the dealers' lots. Maybe yours is not considered sold anymore, so it's just sitting there. Let's hope that's the case and you wouldn't be waiting this long if you were still buying.

Hope all is going well with you. What car have you decided on?

Yay! I just checked the Port of Charleston website and Ingolstadt arrived yesterday at 5:30pm and left at 6am this morning. That must mean that my car is sitting in South Carolina waiting for the last inpection and then it's off to the dealer! I'm so excited!

Now the countdown begins... 6 days and counting.

Actually I haven't informed my dealer that I won't be picking up the car...so as far as they know, its still being sold. Since LB MINI doesn't require a deposit, there isn't a big deal with cancelling the order or having to wait for a refund. For all I know, I could win the MegaMillions lotto and buy that MINI with cash!

Oh, I've decided on the 2006 Civic EX....buying it for $17,900 versus the $25,300 I would have paid for the MCS...I wanted a car that will still provide me some enjoyment and reliability, but I'll be saving about $200/month this way. I still have my MINI for a few more days until I have to deliver it to its new owner

I second that... can't go wrong with a Honda. Darn reliable cars. Civics are all I ever owned... I will so be united with my first non-Honda vehicle ... the MCS.

Yipppeee! You're gonna have a great weekend! Don't forget to let us know how it went and post baby pictures.

I forget, are you gonna run over to the Dragon next week? I'll be there on Saturday. Gotta have some NEW MINIs for everyone to gawk at right?

Well its official...I picked up the Civic tonight (Galaxy Grey EX Coupe - Manual Transmission, of course!). But I still have the MINI, until Tuesday, when I deliver it to the buyer in San Diego.

The Civic is a smooth ride, and I'm hoping it will get a lil' better gas mileage, but its definitely NOT a MINI.

My b/f and I will be done with grad school in about 2-3 years, and perhaps settling down, so maybe the MINI Traveler will be in our future

Edit: Flank, it feels so odd to be back in a Japanese car again, I had a 94' Integra LS from 1997-2000, that seems like ages ago, but I sold it at 117K miles on it, so I'm confident in the Honda!
