You guys are funny.

The ship gets to the canal at 0130 (2330 PDT), but I don't think it goes through until later in the morning (but what do I know?! I hope it sails right through), so you could be staring at that webcam for a long, long time. As near as I can tell, the webcam shows ships exiting the Gatun locks and entering Gatun lake (?). And, trust me, that webcam is not the most robust, stable piece of technology you've ever seen.

As for the passage, yes, from the Atlantic, you enter through the Gatun locks and then exit through the Miraflores locks on the Pacific side. Passage takes the better part of the day.

well, I won't mind having the webcam up on my lap top while I am playing video games or what ever until I go to bed.

Actually, I take that back. As near as I can tell (and we all know how well that worked last time), the webcam shows the north end of the Gatun locks. That is, either ships leaving to the Atlantic, or arriving from the Atlantic. Been lots of ships headed out of there the last hour or so.

That would be my MA too. I'm sure that dealing with hyperventilating MINIacs, especially since they've already committed to buy, isn't that high on the MA priority list.

Since Donna and I are old farts we will be in bed dreaming of our new little talk of the neighborhood. When we get it I may need help posting pictures. First car I had at 16 in 58 was a 51 Ford Victoria. That was an experience but this has just been over the top. Any excuses you can think of why I want to drive the MINI instead of my 1 ton Dodge Cummins the land yacht hauler (it's a hoot) would be appreciated.

Interesting that I do not see the Centaurus Leader listed on this site any longer:

http://www.boydsteamship.com/daily_traffic_report.htm

Weird. When was the last time someone had seen it?

I've been watching for a while, haven't seen anything yet that looks quite like our boat. Looks like both locks are outbound traffic at the moment.

OL just bumped my "expected delivery date" from 5/20 to 5/21 (Sunday). I hope this means that I'll be on the truck with ronburton.

Mine still says 5/21 -- I'm hoping that my MINI magically appears at my dealer today, rather than Sunday or Monday.

ASKMINI states that my vehicle is in transit: I'm assuming that means in transit to my dealer. DC is only a 4 (maybe 5) hour drive from NY/NJ so maybe my MINI will make it here today!

If you wish to torture yourself, you could read Ian Cull's account of his (third) MINI coming off the truck here.

See, that would be torture. Knowing the MINI is there, but not being able to take it home. I'm just hoping my MA is nice enough to call me if it arrives today (as opposed to Monday). I doubt it though

Just now! Man, that boat is quick. I checked the AISLive site and saw this:

So, I looked at the Gatun locks and there wasn't anything there. I go read a couple of short stories to my daughter and look at the screen again and I'm already looking at just the back of the boat as it enters the locks.

Maybe I'll get a better look at her when she gets to the Miraflores.

OL says my estimated delivery date is the 21st. ASK MINI says I'm at the port, awaiting a shipping vessel (yeah, whatever). I'll be up at the dealership in a couple of hours. My assumption is that since the system has always lagged reality, there's a chance my car is actually already at the dealership. We'll see. I'll definitely take a walk around and keep an eye out for a new BRG and a new Astroblack!
