I can't remember, did you contact the Trucking line...I think it was you that did and they didnt have anything. You know, its probably nothing to worry about, I have heard that they pull random MINIs for extra quality checks or whatnot, You were probably one of the unlucky ones. But thanks for taking one for the team! If you need a MINI boost, just let me know, Would be happy to drive you around on Tuesday! hehehhe

Its not me I am worried about, my co-workers, partner and best friends all need to go live in the mountains for a few days, because I will be absolutely unbearable.

I see the top of the cup holder, does that count? Maybe the security system? At lease they didn't drill any holes for the front license plate!

OL now lists my MINI at the VDC and delivery on 6/7. Matches what my MA told me today.

Yes, yes, so close!

I think the Cup Holder is now installed at the factory or VDC. They didnt have time to do anything to it today, as it got in about 4:00. No Alarm system though, the yellow stalk is for the windshield washer.

And yes, definately no holes in the front bumper

Oh, silly me. My dealership wants to install all of the accessories themselves. I guess that way they can make some money directly from me. Can you get them to deliver on the weekend?

You guys are lucky. I still have no updated status on my MINI. It was also on the CL. I spoke to my MA yesterday, but she did not have any new information, even after talking to her MINI USA Rep. I am not too worried yet since my MINI was waiting on the dock for 2 weeks (I am a week 16'er). So I imagine that mine was loaded first and as a result unloaded last. I am going to call my MA tomorrow and see if there is any update. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.....

You guys are crazy over here in week 18. I have loved reading this thread. Especially when the CL was cruising through the Panama Canal. I sent my MA the link to the animated gif and she was ROFL. And my co-workers thought I was obsessed. You made me look tame in comparison. I would not have it any other way. I rented an MCS before I placed my order (after having drooled over MINIs since their re-introduction to the US) and I had a constant grin on my face while driving it (I instantly fell in love with the supercharger whine). Also I had the urge to wave at other MINIs that I passed. After that experience I knew that I had to have one.

Happy motoring. Get out there and get that break-in period over with.

Congratualtions AndyWSea. It's nice to see your long wait finally paying off. It's also good to see the cars finally making it to the west coast. Everyone around herre thought I was a little strange when I told them I had to wait 8 weeks for a car I had ordered. I can't imagine what they would have thought if I had waited 6 to 8 months.

You guys will love the car but the break in period is frustrating to go through after the wait for the car to arrive. It does give you a chance though to get comfortable with the car before you get on it. I will say I'm putting the miles on quickly. At the current rate my car will have 50K by the time it is a year old. I'm sure I'll pile up my Motoring miles at a slower rate in the future but for now I'm having fun and I'VE GOT TO GET THIS THING BROKEN-IN!!!!

Congratulations, AndyWSea!

Your car looks beautiful!

I don't want to put a damper on things, but I've had pretty much nothing but problems with mine so far. You all know the snafu I had at the dealership picking it up. I finally picked it up a week ago today. On Tuesday, I got a flat tire. Wednesday I spent the morning at the dealership getting it fixed. They washed the car afterwards, and I drove to work. At lunch, I drove out and coming back in I noticed a small puddle in the parking space where my car had been. I got out, stuck my finger in it, sniffed it. Water. I figured maybe latent runoff from the car washing.

Well, Thursday (yesterday), I notice that as I'm driving to work, the oil pressure gauge keeps going up when I step on the gas, down when I coast or brake. This is my first car ever, so I have no idea if it's supposed to do that but I kinda think it's not supposed to do that. On my way home, the car suddenly dies. Oil pressure goes from around 35 to 0 PSI, all the warning lights come on. The car has no power. I turn it off, restart it and pull over to the side of the road. I get out and that's when I notice a familiar trail of water coming from the car and a collecting puddle.
I check the oil, but with the new oil, I can barely even see where it is on the yellow dipstick.

I end up getting the car towed into the Herb Chambers dealership (the one about a mile from my house) where they leave it overnight. I call this morning and they're flooded with work they won't be able to look at it until Monday. There goes my plan of driving down to New York this weekend! The car has all of 205 miles on it, and I've had a problem or been in the dealersihp every working day since I got it a week ago. I may have a coolant leak or maybe they forgot to put oil in the car...who knows. Either way the warranty should cover it. But I am NOT happy right now.

Hey AMW, if you have an automatic transmission, then what you describe is normal (oil pressure increases with engine speed). Also, if you are running your AC when it is humid, like it has been, a puddle of water under the car is also normal (it is condensation on the evaporator, which drains out under the car).

Finally, the dying-in-flight problem is not normal, of course. Probably a software bug which required a reboot, which you did. Hopefully, the computer stored the fault codes.
