Talked to someone at ASK MINI today and he told me that I probably wouldn't see any updates until the end of next week. UGH! But I am still in week 18.

yeah, I am starting to worry that I won't have any enthusiasm left for when the car actually gets here! At this point I am happy that the car will be here sooner than I origianlly thought and am resigned to the fact that there is nothing within my power to HURRY ITS *** UP! However, that will not mean I will stop calling Ask MINI, and tracking the process of it getting to me.

More things to do while you wait.

Noting has changed on my status with Ask MINI in the last week. To occupy myself while I wait I have been reading all the MINI stuff I can find. Yesterday I was reading MotoringFile.com and there was a post about a sale that Morristown Mini (Morristown, NJ) is having with additional discounts if you go through MotoringFile. So I checked it out. Some really good deals (20%-30% off) on all MINI accessories and parts. So I started thinking. I'm in NH and ordered my car from MINI of Peabody. I ordered no dealer installed accessories, not even floormats. I could order stuff from Morristown MINI but then again maybe MINI of Peabody will match Morristown MINIs prices. So I emailed my MA at MINI of Peabody. I haven't heard back from him yet so now in addition to waiting for my MINI to arrive I am waiting for an email from my MA.

Hyperventilating. Still hyperventilating. No confirmed production date. Week 18 is the week after next.

Here's something to obsessively worry about: A 1970s style gas shortage may be looming on the horizon, with gas lines and $4 per gallon gas. At which point small cars like my MCS will be deeply prized. So just as the car rolls off the transporter at the dealer, the dealer decides to slap on a $1000 market adjustment charge, at which point I'll have no choice but to pay it, since new ordering slots for '06 cars will be gone.

tubwreck,

I wouldn't worry too much about MINI of Peabody jacking the price up at the last minute. They appear pretty straight to deal with. Also your Motor Vehicle Purchase Contract should cover you. Read the 4th paragraph down on the back of the contract. It talks about the manufacturer changing the price but not the dealer and also talks about "lawful additional cost". I think you're pretty well covered.

Also if they do change the price you can always pitch a fit and clear the showroom. That is usually reasonable effective at resolving things like that.

I will say with the price of gas going up I'm glad I'll be driving a MINI soon rather than the F150 I've been driving the last few months.

Also, I dont think that the gas milage for the MCS is good enough that it will cause a rush in ordering them. The Prius and other hybrid cars, maybe, but MINI's? No.

I dreamt about my MINI again last night. *sigh* This process needs to hurry up! hehe
