hojin eta speculation
in the absence of any capability to track the nyk line ships, here is some guesswork on the hojin's journey:
judging from the various journeys that the ww ships (who’s schedules are posted) make from southampton to port hueneme it looks like it takes about 19 days if the ships go straight to the panama canal without stopping at any east coast ports like charlotte or brunswick and that they arrive at the canal about 11 or 12 days into the trip.
The website that lists etas for the canal shows the hojin arriving either 5/31 or 6/1. that is 11 or 12 days from the time it left southampton, so it looks like no east coast stops. The ww ships take 8 or 9 days to get to port hueneme from the canal, so the eta in port hueneme for the hojin is 6/9 or 6/10. this would be without figuring in any stops in either san diego or los angeles/long beach.

hojin update
The website that lists etas for the canal
( http://www.boydsteamship.com/daily_traffic_report.htm )
shows the hojin arriving 5/31 and "#8 for transit" whatever tha means. assuming a traverse of the canal on 5/31, the eta in port hueneme is friday 6/9 (if there are no stops between the canal and port of hueneme). tic toc tic toc....getting closer by the minute...

Beagle, I think you're right on track with our ETA... it's the best guess I've heard so far!!! All I know is that Swedish Fish is getting very excited. I just ordered her the auto-up which Ian has some in stock. For those new owners, trust me, it's the best $50 you can spend for a convenience...

Now I've got the Euro Parcel Shelf installed. It felt a bit strange to be ripping chunks of the interior out of a car that has less than 50 miles on it. And, I discovered that the cup holder fits the big Heineken oil cans...for driveway installation purposes only!
I would have had the iceLink+ installed, but I need a torx-40 bit, so I'll get that tomorrow.
I have only a craptacular camera-phone pic of the MINI all clean and shiny at the dealership - it looked incredible there. My good digital camera had a dead battery. After a quick dinner at Panera on Sawmill Rd., we proceeded to drive the hour back to Lancaster in the rain . You don't want to see pics of it now!
I took it over to my parents' house. My dad's in love with it. I can't stop looking at it!

Hi guys,
We picked up her Mini at around 5:30......In the rain.....
We drove(I was driving the Evo, she was driving her brand new car) to eat some dinner and then I got to drive her car a little bit. It was fun...
We didn't remember to ask about the auto headlights and wipers so I said lets go back to the dealer and ask.... good thing we did... they actually removed the auto headlights upon the alarm install ... But of course, no tech to fix it,even if they had the parts....
I think I was more upset then she was, heck we drove 2 hours in the rain and hail to get there....
No problem, we drive home, I don't want to ruin her first day with the car....
Just to find that the silver bonnet stripe is now bubbling at the leading edge near the air intake ....After 2 hours of driving!!!!
Either way, she will be in touch come tomorrow morning...
One thing though, I did notice on the drive home that she(my fiancee) takes corners a lot faster than she used to and seems to drive faster too...
I guess I will now have to get a Cooper S for myself

As for me, I was starting to get really frustrated. My MCS was on a truck for ages it seemed, and was supposed to come in last week on Friday, well...it didn't. Then they said I would get it Saturday. That was a no go too. But, I finally took delivery Tuesday the 30th. OMG I am in love! I thought I loved my Cooper, but my MCS rocks!

Congrats to those who have picked up their cars! I just can't get over how great this car is. It's even better since I installed the ice>Link+ last night!
