Goodyear wants your tires!!
I do not know all the details but this might be interesting if you are about to pick up your MINI or any other car for that matter.
I was visiting my cousin this weekend. He works at a Goodyear Gemini shop around Columbus, Ohio. He told me that if you get a new car that does not have Goodyear tires on it, you can take it into a Goodyear Gemini shop and they will give you "Market Value" on the tires toward a trade-in on new Goodyear tires. He said that the tires have to have less than 500 miles on them.
I had never heard of this before so I thought that it might be an interesting tid bit to share even though I think the Cooper S comes with Dunlops (sold by Goodyear) or Goodyear tires.
Call your local shop and ask about the details. If you are in Northern Columbus, PM me and I will give you my cousin's name and location. They work on commission and we could easily pay him back for this tip.
BTW, if you don't like Goodyear tires, just ignore this. I know they are expensive and probably not considered the best for tracking but I just thought I would share.

Since the runflats are rediculously expensive, it seems fair market value would basically buy me any set of (non run-flat) goodyears I would want.. ??

I only think that you can trade in tires from another company... (from Firestone or Continental). That is why I said in the first post, "..if you get a new car that does not have Goodyear tires on it.." and "..even though I think the Cooper S comes with Dunlops (sold by Goodyear) or Goodyear tires."
It is not a promotion as far as I know.. it is their policy.
