New Cooper S

Well, I am not a new MINI owner but an owner of MINI number 2. We purchased a new 2006 Pepper White Cooper S this Saturday. Bought it right off the dealership lot. Got lucky in that it had everything on it that we would have ordered from the factory. It was just meant to be. Here's a picture of our new baby.

We got lucky on my wife's PW/B that will arrive this week at the dealer. Luckily the dealer had one coming in just like she wanted, less the rear fog, but that was no big deal. Great color! Of course I'm a little partial to my CR/W MCS. Congrats on being a 2 MINI family.

Looks great, but I'm biased (see sig).

I don't see a rear spoiler. Is it just the pic, or my eyes?

Did they take any off the sticker price?

Last Saturday, I took a ride over to Dublin, OH, to look at the current crop of MINIs. I wasn't really gonna do more than just look [honest...swear to the MINI gods ], as I just love that '03 Silk Green CVT. However, darned if a big MINI bug didn't zero in and bite me...whispering, as it sucked the green from my wallet, that I should buy a new S before the engine changeover and just keep my Cooper just for show. Sighhhhhh, those Esses sure were pretty, and I just "had" to take one for a test drive before starting back home. Darn it, anyway...I pick up my new Royal Gray S on 5/27. I got my "revenge" though...am taking a friend along so he can drive the Cooper back home...hehehe, I just KNOW that MINI bug will bite him, too!!

To all who asked, the window tinting is from the dealer here in Denver. Their standard package to every MINI includes window tinting and a clear bra to the bonnet. The tinting is fantastic. Keeps the car much cooler inside. We just love this new PW MINI. Only had it two weeks now and have almost 700 miles on it.

Any idea the percentage on the tint? Looks great! Congrats on the addition to the family.

This is just as bad as the loosers on the west coast that demand markup over MSRP.

NOT everyone wants to pay for tint or a clear bra.

whoa, that was a mandatory package you HAD to pay for? Suspicious.

Can't disagree with that painful 'west coast' markeup though... gah!

I'm ordering through the Denver dealership, don't think it's required for me, though I may opt for at least the tint. They don't keep a lot of inventory on lot there, and what little they have is usually the results of someone ordering a car and then not being able to finance it. So the tint and invisi-shield could be the results of someone selecting that for their order, not buying it, and then it ends up like that for sale on the lot. Or, they could be looking to make an extra buck or two based on supply and demand...though they never pressured me to buy one of the highly tricked out cars they had on hand when I was shopping.

last I knew Schomp MINI didn't require you to take any special tint and clearbra package if you ordered.

If you bought from the stock available on the lot, then they generally tinted and clearbra'd all of those MINI and in a lot of cases they were adding quite a bit more.

My info may be a bit out of date though.
