I installed an OEM armrest last week. Not hard at all. Looks nice. Perfect match for color and style. Not much storage in the armrest. No drilling. Not cheap. Got mine from Jason at Classic Mini. -Bob
Does it get in the way of shifting with your elbow at all? Seems like I heard one person say that it bothered them in that way.
I'd like to drive a MINI with the armrest and check it out.
you should definately do this. i love armrests in principle and in most cars, but if i had spent an hour driving a mini with one b4 i ordered i would not have checked that box.
I have the factory installed one in my MCS and love it. My wife's MCSa doesn't have an arm rest and after driving hers, I made sure to order it on mine. It is definitely a personal preference accessory.
To answer Minitee's question. The armrest doesn't interfere with shifting(still have stock shifter with JCW shifter ****...short throw shifter mod to follow shortly). My armrest does "get in the way" a bit to set the parking brake, but I can live with it. No biggie.
