Acoustic fuel warning?

Does anyone have this option programmed on their car? If so, what is it like?

I tend to be one of those people who keeps forgetting to get gas, so this would be a great reminder, but I don't want some shrieking siren constantly going off if I'm driving around at 1/8 tank.

It's just a soft deep "boing" kind of sound...nothing that will cause to you to jump out of your seat....the light will go from orange to red...this lets you know you have a little over 2 gallons left and you should seriously think about getting more gas. If you are like me, and enjoy your music on the open road, it doesn't matter, you probably won't hear it anyway... Mick

It's the exact same sound as the 'ice' warning (@37deg), and the 'speed' warning (Nav OBC) and the tire pressure monitor warning. Only happens once, so it's definitely not intrusive. Though given it's the same as all the other ones, it takes a minute to figure out WHICH warning it is.

I've been meaning to research how long you have at each segment of the low gas illumination. You have yellow, and then red. Red means 2g left?

The ice warning has sent me into a panic a few times (don't really expect to hear it in FL) I have the light that changes to red, but that usually means I've go about 10 miles left.

Low fuel gong.

When you hear it, the low fuel indicatior will turn red also. If you look at the range, it will usually show 50 miles left in the tank. It's neat, I use it all the time, and it is very accurate.

See, that's what I was wondering about. I can't recall whether I was at red or yellow, but I think red... I don't have the gond enabled, saw the red, checked the range in the computer at a certain point after this in my commute, saw 14 miles, and wondered... is this 14 miles to the reserve, or 14 miles until crapola is sucked up from the bottom of an empty gas revoir as my Mini dies by the side of the road?

I filled up once I got into the city, and that was that. Still trying to get a sense of it's range. Plus, the break-in period offers lower fuel economy, right? I think I filled at 13g, meaning I had little left!

the sound for the low fuel chime is extremely low level... if I wanted to go thru the hassle of pulling out the center speedo (I don't have nav) I would change the gain on the amplifier. for me it is visual only as I am almost always listening to music.
