That logo has special meaning for my wife and I, and I can't share it. It's also copyrighted (designer habits die hard).

I'd be happy to design something for your friends though.

MINI financing?

So for folks financing their MINIs, did you go with MINI financing? Are you using an outside bank/credit union?

I've been waiting for close to 2 weeks for MINI to get back to me with rates--it's been a very disappointing experience! I'd rather go with them (1-stop shopping), but only if I can get them to actually give me a straight answer. Anyone else have better luck?

No problem. Here's their current logo:

(nothing special....they drive a Mazda RX-8)

If you have the time, I'd appreciate it!

RX-8? You mean I'd be aiding and abetting the enemy? lol.

How attached are they to what they have, or just as long as "Hare" is a part of it?

My credit union is offering 3.9% up to 72 months to compete with all the domestic brands offering low apr right now. I am trying to get them to lock in the 3.9% for me because they are only offering it this month, and next month who knows what they will do. Since I won't take delivery until the first week of next month though, I doubt they will hold it over for me.

You may want to go to any bank or credit union you work with though and see what they are offering. Chances are that they will want to beat the current rates that BMW/MINI is offering, so you may be able to get them to pre-qualify up to a certain amount and then all you have to do is get a check when you know what your total will be. It shouldn't add more than a couple of hours to the whole thing.

Another method, which may be your best, is to buy it through Mini financing, and then after a month go to a credit union or bank and see if they will offer you a better rate. That way you get your car, and you still have the chance to refinance at a lower rate. My credit union will do this and will beat my current loan by 2%.

Hope that helped some...

Drew

We're using our Credit Union for financing. Much better rate than MiniUSA.

3.9%?!? Wow! My credit union is offering 5.99% up to 48 months (which still beats anything that the dealership could offer, but dang. 3.9% is great.

Yeah, mine isn't showing that low yet, but we're not taking out the loan until Gromit hit's the dock. Might get a little lower then.

Drew, are you by any chance using a national credit union? Or something local to NC?

And GreenRacer, is that Digital Credit Union? Who are you using?

Thanks, folks!

Nope. My credit union is Merrimack Valley Federal Credit Union. I originally got my membership there through my dad (worked for AT&T for 35 years) back when you had to either work for a company affiliated with them or be a family member. Now their membership is open to anyone. I would assume that you'd need a membership there to get an auto loan from them. In any case, here's the link to their website.

http://www.merrimack-valley-fcu.org/index.php

The downside is that all their branches are around the MA/NH border but their online services are really good and the loan rates are pretty decent as well. It doesn kind of suck not having a branch local to me though.

Phil, what about the Medea? First though, remember that Ask Mini does not have information about which ship your Mini is or will be on. You need to call the sales rep at your dealership for that information. They get a daily report. Ask Mini can only track as far as the docks in Southampton.

Phil, the Auto Banner is not WW. It's NYK, and there's no way to track them like WW. You very well could be on the Auto Banner with Gromit. Call your sales rep (actually any of them at your dealership) and they will tell you which ship your baby is on. The Medea is WW, and I believe left port a couple days after Auto banner.

Hey guys. I've been posting in PW27SG but my MINI was born on 7/9, so I technically should be in here. I apologize for neglecting this group. Please don't hate.

Anyway, I started a PW27SG spreadsheet (complete with sortable columns) and it looks like it's gaining a lot of popularity. I'd love to put together one for you guys. Please post or message me your data and I'll put them up! Most likely a separate sheet, but I also was thinking of creating one combining the two. There are some who were on the PW27/PW28 borderline like me.

P.S. It's not really that much work on my part. Seriously. I'm a web guy. Keeps me busy anyway, even though I'm expecting to take delivery sometime next week.

Crishchun rocks!

Thanks, Crishchun! You're the best!

You've already got me listed even though I haven't sent you info yet. Thanks for mining!

Here's the rest of my info:

Blue baby -- MCS -- HB/W -- Logan -- Herb Chambers (Boston, MA) -- 6/11 -- 7/10 -- 7/12 -- Courage -- 7/15 -- 7/24 -- NY

Just finished watching Logan's Run. Between that and X-Men, I've decided on my MINI's name.

And I thought I was obsessed...just went to show my husband the spreadsheet, and it's already updated in the time it took me to let the dog outside!

Man, you guys on the Trinidad must be so excited right now! You're docking _tomorrow_!
