Howdy all, lol. had to say it

I'm new to the boards, after finding the mini2.com boards a little snobbish. Seemed to me if you didn't know everything there was to know, or lurk for over a year to learn, then you weren't welcome. Questions did go unanswered, and yes I did search extensively.

Seems the one question no one would answer was::

Can you have the BlitzSafe XM adapter with the iPod interface and H/K audio?

@ Any rate, I'm in Jacksonville Florida, with the id COOP-428 on the back, if you see me, wave :-)

I drive a 2004 MINI cooper, Indi blue metallic, with 4 Union Jack Symbols on it, Automatic with Step, Premium, Convenience, Sport, leather seats, iPod, Harman Kardon, & fog lights. I just rolled to 24,000 miles also !

I used to drive a SUV and this is a welcomed change.

Look for me around the forums. Hope I can be of some value here
:-)

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question...but maybe you can
use the search option on this site. Hope you find your answer soon!

Happy Motoring!

P.S. Can't wait to see some pics of your MINI!

Welcome to NAM...your MINI sounds awesome. I do invite you to join the Indi Blue owner's club if you are so inclined. The benefits includes a wide array of.............well, nothing....but it is fun!!!

As to your technical question, I have no clue. Someone here will know, but occasionally a real stumper comes along and you may just have one of those.

With an attitude like that it's easy to find any board unwelcoming...

The fact is, you've asked a question that people don't know the answer to... Instead of giving you bad information, people just choose not to respond... Hardly unwelcoming, I think it's more an issue of people trying to avoid sticking their foot into their own mouths...

What your looking for isn't exactly a common configuration so it may be difficult trying to find out the answer to your question.

Just remember, the reason that your question goes unanswered may just be because nobody knows the answer, and not because the forum is being "unwelcoming."

BEHOLD!

After using our AMAZING AND FANTASTIC search tool, I have an answer! You too can now harness this amazing power since you joined NAM!

Yes you can have both. However, you have to route the iPod through the BlitzSafe.

Don't ask me how... don't ask me why... I don't have either. (AUX Input all the way!)

Oh... and welcome to NAM!

No snootys here. (just the occasional feisty one if you call us snooty)

HAHA Nah , I don't have a tude.

:-p

I called BlitzzSafe, and they informed me that yes you can do this. The Model is the SLD03, which is about 240.00 and includes the tuner plus the little Blitzzsafe box.

To the user that wanted to know what it was, it lets you have XM radio instead of Sirius, and still be able to use the original head unit.

Thanks for the welcome, yea I guess they are on the wrong side of the river. Meh who knows :-/

Thanks again.

Welcome aboard . . . Unless a "BlitzSafe XM adapter" is something that protects one from an unexpected attack from a european army, I won't be much help. Having kept up carefully with audio technology, I've decided to make the leap from 8 Track to cassette here soon.

Post some pictures of your MINI and ask which fuse to plug-in your power adapter and you will get more answers than you can say grace over . . .

Welcome. I agree about using the "search" tool to find out if there are any threads about what you're interested in. I found out all about Blitzsafe and how to install it into my MINI. I even was directed to a site where I purchased it. Now I have XM in my car running through my stereo system! I have only been around these parts for 3 months now. NAM members have been amazing.

You can call blitzsafe and find out which xm adapter to use w/ipod. They have 2-3 different adapters which are dependent on the inputs and head unit. I just put xm in and didn't want ipod or cd changer inputs.
Victor is the tech at Blitzsafe and will answer your question. If you buy it, they will give you a 20% discount, but will have to yell to get it.

good luck, and welcome to NAM

I wonder if this setup will work for you:
http://www.myradiostore.us/xm-radio-...ni-cooper.html

I have the non-iPod version of that bundle and it works great -- I don't have the H/K stereo so I can't speak to that however. Check out the XM411 site also, and there is a Navigation & Audio section of NAM where people would be more likely to answer this question, especially if it had the words XM in the title so people had an idea of what you were looking for.
