Yep

[quote=polizei]Am I missing a pedal in the picture? I only see two pedals, hence why I asked. It must be a full manual car then, correct?

Yes full manual, 3 pedals.

Here's a pic of my last Ferrari, it was totaled by the body shop fixing a door ding and nose rockchips.

OUCH! the body shop totaled your car? talk about some nose chips now!

The car is beautiful by the way... but I think we're missing the point here I think you came here to talk about MINIs, yes? So have you built any on the configurator? What options, paint etc are you looking at?

Yes, we are looking at a Astro Black, with white stripes, MCS Convertable. With Premium, sport, and LSD. With the Bullet wheels.

While this started at a gateway car to the Ferrari. I doubt very much we will depart with the Mini even after "Mrs. M" has become an expert stick shift driver.

We are optioning the car for long term ownership.

This thread makes me want to go find a stick car so bad. I just learned stick a few days ago in a brand new Z4 (work for BMW) and stalled it 3 times in traffic... oops. I get so frustrated with it... o well, no way to practice.

Now all i want to do is stall it out until i get it down and am comfortable with it. As soon as im comfortable i know, even if i stall it every now and again, i wont freak out when driving.

Soon enough...

I am still surprised at the percent of drivers who don't know how to drive a stick. Don't get me wrong, nothing against those who haven't had the desire to learn.

I was pleasantly surprised when my daughter wanted to learn to drive using a car with a stick. My enthusiasm diminished a bit when she wanted to learn using my car. What the heck, two birds with one stone. You just have to accept there is a good chance you'll be replacing a clutch. Luckily my car, at the time, was a 97 Honda (relatively cheap clutch replacement.)

When I traded the Honda in for the Mini, she had all the clutch burning out of her system and reminds me of this evey time I tell her she can't drive the Mini. Just kidding. Earlier this year, at 17, she did a great job driving the Dragon (albeit her only passenger, me, would have enjoyed the ride much more with the help of some high quality nerve pills.)

Oh, by the way, if you don't feel you are the person to transition her from driving the Mini to driving the Ferrari, I volunteer to make the sacrifice.

Good luck to your wife, and you. One word of advice. PATIENCE!!!

Looks like we are picking the car up on Sat.

I'm planning on taking it to Lucky Dog, for the S/C Pulley and Intercooler upgrades. Oh and Stripes.

Any recommendation on Stripes. (Black MCS Cabrio)?

IC upgrades from LDG? Do you ask for that or did they recommend it because when I discussed that with them they said its not worth the money.

I asked about them, we are still just talking, I don't even have the car yet, so nothing is set in stone.

LDG has always been extreamly straight with me. I've had my Audi A8 serviced there.

Magnetic, you should check out DCMM, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=85
The DC MINI club is very active. There is usually a breakfast the third Sat of every month (you just missed this one) but there is something going on every week.

John B is a member and has had several open houses and I believe a tech session. I've talked to him several times and was just surprised he would advocate a new IC since thats not going to help much without a new head and when I asked that question, he said forget about it until some serious work was done. Pulley and CAI, yes.

There should be a breakfast 3rd sat of July at MOS. Check it out. Bring the Ferrari

Which dealer did you buy from?

If your going to the Summit Point Mini Meet East 2006 thing on the 29th. I will be bringing the Ferrari to that, if we don't have the Mini yet.

We Got IT!

We just got back home with my wifes new machine.

What a great car, I drove it approx 120miles back from PA.

We found a Cool Blue (black stripes) MCS Cabrio w/ Premium, Sport (LSD), Conv, Cold Weather at OTTOS Mini.

They were great, I highly recommend them.

I also Recommend Tony at Towson Mini, who didn't have the car we wanted but was really good.

will post Pics soon.

Yeah

Is he from Australia? Lots of "Mate" in his dialog. Very pleasent guy, also very blunt and direct, which is nice in a sales guy.
