New Owner Here - Some Q's!!

Recently purchased a 2003 BRG Mini Cooper. Love it a lot but the ring around the gear shift is scratched bad...found out about Classic Mini through NAM here and contacted them regarding the Chrome Line interior. Went through a number of e-mails...anyhow I ended up sending my credit card info via email and havent heard back yet. Now I feel stupid for sending cc info via email...can anyone tell me if this is how they have ordered from Classic before?

unrelated - can anyone describe or post pics of an anthracite dash? I want to know what mine is!!

Welcome! I've never dealt with Classic before but they many have around here. They seem to be well thought of, don't panic!
Here's my anthracite interior.

Wow! Thank you for the quick response! I just got a confirmation e-mail, but still feel pretty dumb.

Thanks for the pic too! Ordering the armrest, and wasnt sure if I had anthracite interior. I believe I have panther black, which means I am ordering the armrest with silver trim....

I have never dealt with Classic MINI before either so I won't comment on their reputation. However, I am in the IT business and would suggest you never send your entire cc number via email unless you have some way of securing the information (encryption). What I usually do, if I must send cc numbers is send half the numbers and get them the other half some other way. Either call in, fax or snail mail.

If you are entering information via a website, make sure the page sends the information encrypted.

Just a suggestion (sorry if it's after the fact). I would monitor my bills very carefully the next while.

BTW...congratulations on your MINI. Let's see some pictures of your car

beken - thanks for the advice. Im no dummy, (UConn class of '05!) and it was one of those things you immediately regret. Its just...I have this insatiable urge to tinker with the Mini! I wont be making the same mistake again though, rest assured....

And thanks for the congrats! Im new to forums in general, but I will try to have pics up soon!

I have purchased many items through Classic for thousands of dollars. IMHO they are the best for OEM parts... I've regularly been charged 50% less than my local dealer wants for the same items plus reasonable shipping and out of state tax benefits. I called them and gave them the CC info at the start and have placed about 10 orders since then - the service I expect from them is now at a very high level because they deliver so well.

K amato82 - You should get a PayPal account. Much more secure and very handy. Most place that don't take credit cards can at least do the PayPal route.

Cheers

I ordered parts from Classic. Everything was perfect. No problems, and I believe they are a sponsor of this forum

Everyone - thanks! Im definitely NOT saying there has been a problem. In fact, the back and forth via email was a more courteous and helpful experience than I have ever had in an actual store. I think I just bugged out a little when I hurled my cc info into cyberspace.

If everything wraps up as nicely as it began with Classic, then they have earned another repeat customer (though i dont know about "thousands of dollars!")

So far all the members of this forum have backed up all the good things i heard about NAM too...
