Happy birthday to me. Bought a 04' JCW

Hello all. Well I have been wanting a Mini and just couldn't wait any longer. So I found the car I wanted on Ebay and bought it. Here is the listing number.
4637527566.
I love it. I was wondering. I would like to put headers on it but Mini Maddnes wants $1,000.00 I have found others for $199.00 I think they were millteck either way. Does anyone know if the Mini Maddnes ones are that much better? Also the car seems to be down on power above 5000 rpms and there is a ticking noise in the location of the supercharger. Any ideas?
My plans for driving and racing this summer are. I am going on the route 66 trip. Minis in the mountains (it's down the road). I am going to drag race. And I hope to drive a Autocross or 2. Well there is my first post looking forward to meeting some of you guys and meating all you girls. lol sorry pervert. Thanks for looking. Coloradomini

As far as the ticking noise, get used to it. Seems most do that, sometimes it's a bit louder, then sometimes it's gone. Don't know why it would be down on power above 5000, that car should pull all the way to redline. Does it have the JCW airbox installed?

Welcome to NAM!

ditto on the clicking...hydrolic lifters unlesss it goes away with the clutch then you can get a warranty repair (until 08/04 builds)

Can't help much with the rest (have you tried searching?), hope you enjoy the car as much as the rest of us. Sweet birthday present!

Hey thanks you two. Okay get used to the ticking I can do that. As far as the high rpm power it only me I am sure. I had to go to Reno to pick the car up and drove it though the low elevation desert. Then getting home at high elevation plus I don't think the previous owners drove it hard because for the first few days when I wound it out there was some brown smoke (carbon in combuston chambers increases compression) so it's all cool. Great website. I have been checking out the performance section oh boy I am ready for some headers and maybe a new intercooler. And I have changed the intake with a large K&N looking intake and it added some power and you can really hear the superchager whine. Thanks ColoradoMini

Don't forget to check out the 5280 club great resource and if they're anything like all the other clubs I met, I'm sure they're loads of fun too!
