engine lugs at 2000 RPM

No lugging here. At 2000 rpm in 6th gear I'm at 60 mph and the engine has good torque to accelerate moderately from that speed. Obviously, 2000 rpm isn't quite into the "sweet spot" of the rpm range since the power really comes on at 3,000 rpm and above. Just reached the break-in mileage (1250) and yes, more miles will help!
Also, WELCOME!

The supercharger cuts in at around 2800 rpm, below which point the MCS is a rather modestly powered 1.6 litre car.
Unless you've been driving day and night I'll assume you're still in break-in, so you're not using full throttle. That in turn probably means that the auto isn't kicking down to a lower gear in the way that it will once you can drive it more, umm, assertively.

Right NeilM the supercharger doesn't do much till I say about 2500rpm. But then again my car is pullied. You will find that a stock car both auto and stick is a bit of a slow poke from a stop and when cruising in 6th gear at below 3k rpm. This is even worse with the A/C on.
If you plan to say pass a car push the gas more and cause the tranny to downshift or push on one of the paddle-shifters to downshift to 5th and then go for it

I beg your pardon! The engine lugs at 2000 rpm? Ya think? Nevertheless, a good engine speed for coasting down the alluvial plain.
Now, granted, A Tahoe V-8 cruises at 2000 rpm. But that's a quite different design philosophy.
Sorry to be sarcastic. If you press on the accelerator and the engine lugs at 2000 rpm instead of "shifting" you should ask your service advisor about it.
