Mid life crisis (wife's wording) car

I currently drive a GMC pick up, however in the spring of next year I plan to buy a new (fun to drive) vehicle(100 mile round trip commute). The Mini is at the top of the list of 5 possible vehicles. I have been following the Mini since its Intro, but I'm looking for the "best Bang for the Buck" fun. The others can be summed up if you read the October issue of Winding Road(WindingRoad.com) It really has come down to the Cooper S or the Mazdaspeed 3. The Mini has a slight lead, however it may come down to Dealer location/service. I live in Easton PA and work in Morris County NJ, so I would probably buy the Mini at Morristown Mini (45 Miles), the Mazdaspeed dealer is about 8 miles from home. Any thoughts????

You don't even need to think about it any more! MINI MINI MINI! Of course, this might be a modest posting on the MINI Forum board!!!

Welcome....sounds like you might have already made up your mind based on dealer location. I've seen the Mazdaspeed 3, nice power for it's size. But the MINI is too unique to pass up.

I was also torn between the MINI and a Mazda (Miata, in my case). The Mazda dealer was about 6 miles from my house, the MINI about 90 miles....so I understand your dilemma.....I chose the MINI, partly because of the experience at the dealer. The test-drive vehicle at the Mazda place was almost OUT OF GAS when I pulled out of the parking lot! Things went much better at the MINI dealer, and I was overall more impressed with the MINI.

Good luck on your decision!

Hey cable guy,
Im new too... i got my MCS 3 months ago and i love it, i would really go for the min no metter how far the dealer is... But i would recommend you to go take a test drive at the dealer, after that you will not have any doubt on your selection.

Good luck,
MaC

MINI will be your best choice for the buck...I traded in my Ford Ranger 4x4 on my MINI and was the best move I could have made at the time! I have since had a job change and my MINI is in the garage at home and I am back to an F250 for work..but the MINI is there for when I get back home! Good luck on your choice (MINI,MINI,MINI)

Welcome to NAM. Best of luck with your decision. Haven't owned a Mazda yet, but got my Mini Feb. 06 and still have that silly smile on my face when I drive it

Mazda will be worth 4k dollars in 10 years if near mint condition. the mini... 3x that.

A classic is a classic. ratings mean little once you drive an MCS or a regular cooper with sport suspension. The worlds are far away. A miata vs mini is another toss up, a fairer fight for buying a car of value.

Welcome to NAM,

As you can tell by browsing the forum, we are a bunch of MINI Maniacs. It's more than just a car, its a way of life. We become possesed and obsessed. I have never owned a car where people have sooooo much in common. We are having a run tomorrow and we have a Miata joining us. I'll have to report back on how it goes.

Good luck with your decision.

If you test drive both cars your decision will be easy. There is no car that drives like a mini at the price.

The car is just insane to drive...

Oooops! Failed to read the postings properly!

Say after driving the MCS how could you even consider the Mazda?

Get the MINI Cooper S... You'll never regret it!
