Hello from southern VA

Hi everyone, just created an account after about a week of trolling around the forums..and also just ordered a PS/B MCS with Black bonnet stripes

One question I do have for you helpful folks is whether I should wait until after the break-in period to install a CAI .. or does that make a difference?

Thanks for any input

That's probably how long I'll be able to hold off installing it

Welcome! I'm in Farmville, VA. I ordered a HB MCS on Sept. 23. I gotta get down to VIR when it comes in!

You don't need to wait any particular time before installing the CAI, but I would wait long enough first to shake out any new-car problems. The reason is, once you start putting on aftermarket parts, some dealers will tend to blame the added parts for any of your problems.

Here's pics of the Mini's running at VIR http://www.vfnewman.com/VIR/Minirally2005/index.html

I'm pretty sure the BMW CCA has driver schools at VIR. I'll have to check them out.

Definitely. I tried to access the BMW CCA site yesterday to find some info, seemed to be down at the time, I'm also going to be looking into doing some autocrossing (after the break-in of course!). Never done it before, should be fun!

Thanks everyone, here's some more of my MCS stats for anyone interested..

Sports package w/web spokes
Premium package
Chrome line interior
HK stereo
Anthracite interior
black/grey leatherette seats
Automatic tranny (yea I know, but i like the paddles too much)

Future mods will probably be:
CAI
one-ball exhaust
15% SC pulley
colder plugs
ECU

And possibly:
2% crank pulley and some sort of light alternator pulley
twurbo? haha yea right.

Oh and the aero kit..lol
...and stiffer rear anti-roll bars
