Wow

Found this site today. I want one. Don't dare to go on a test drive. I will live though you lucky folks until I can afford one. Hope you don't mind if I look at your cars. I promise not to drool on them. Thanks for the fun.

Come on in, but watch the drool I'm not sure this place will help cure your need for one. Sooner or later you will test drive one...... then you're finished (insert evil laugh)

Not taking a test drive is no guarantee of protection. I ordered mine without a test drive. The first time I sat in a MINI drivers seat was when I picked mine up at the dealership. Some people might say, WHAT? But MINI owners say, YEAH!

Welcome to NAM !

May want to lay in an extra drool container or two.

But you will be assimilated into the collective - its only a matter of time.

Thanks all, so not helpful. If you see someone in a green jetta waving, its just someone who wants one.

Welcome to the site. I'm sorry to tell you, once you've been bitten by the bug, you're screwed, so you might as well pony up and start saving for the downpayment. I had to wait three years, but I finally got mine.

Are you really a CA Cattle Rancher? My dad has a black angus cattle ranch in Texas...

Me too, but you never know. One rancher I know drives a Scion. Her husband keeps complaining that he can't wear his 10 gallon hat (literaly) when he rides in her car.

After growing up in England and my parents owning a Mini Clubman, I have always had a little love for the car. When I moved to the US 5 years ago I purchased a V6 Mustang and loved it. However I always loved the look of the MINI. So when the new Mustang was released last year I decided that I would test drive both the Mustang and MINI, after the test drive there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted a MINI. This car is amazing and I loved everthing about it. Needless to say I have now made my first move to purchasing a new MCS 2007 and have a deposit down on one. I have a long wait ahead of me I know, but once I have it I do not think I will purchase a different car ever again.

All I can say is save up your pennies it will be well worth the buy.

My dad's test of any car was whether he could wear his hat in it or not. We had one car that he couldn't fit the hat into and he got a hat holder to come off the rear view mirror that kept his hat up on the ceiling... but that car didn't last long.... he was happy to get rid of it (of course for a rancher that meant when it had 300,000 miles on it and the baling wire coulding find anything to hold on to to keep it together... lol) Where in TX is your dad's ranch? We had angus cross's, mostly red angus. The black angus tended to get brisket at high altitude (we summered our cattle at elevations over 10,000 ft.) so we phased them out as we could.

If you already on the Forums, yur dun!

Once you've started chatting with us folks with a Passion for MINI's, your pretty much screwed. You should just go buy one...

I had to wait 3 years before I could order mine (had to finish school first!), and I still find it awesome and fun even after 2 years of ownership!

Where in TX is your dad's ranch?
Pottermom - my dad's ranch is in San Marcos, TX in between Austin and San Antonio. He boasts that he owns the first hill of the hill country. I just got back from his annual cattle auction the end of October. I don't know how they do it... it's such hard work.

And unforutnately MINI no long makes the fastest color available...
whskysouth - so true... that was my original wish for a color, but alas, they did not make them anymore by the time I could get mine... I still like my slick little AB/S though...

I know some folks from San Marcos... nice country. We go over there every now and then. Nice day trip for us.

yes, it is hard work, I know from first hand experience. My dad didn't have hired hands, he had children.
