Just saw a post asking about a jeweler.

Wow, Art... we'll have to compare notes on our AF careers as Logisticians and see just how much we have in common ! I was active duty from 1979-2002. How about you ?

Wow, this has gotten interesting.
revmini - Are you LSMS? Pastors can be so fun once you get them off the pulpit and away from the congregation.
Ruby06, I've designed a couple forensic labs in Ohio. I just hope they didn't nab and file my DNA when I was there.
And we found 3 architects in only 4 pages of posts!

I'm an art teacher, so to all of you fellow art career people, I salute ya! I've been teaching art to elementary kids for the past 15 years, working with about 150 students a day, hence the name of my MSC is "The Liberator"!
(I'm currently doing book arts and marbling with decades of sculpture projects to work on!)
Pottermom, to you I can strongly relate because as a Ceramics major from the University of Nebraska, I have a whole lifetime of pottery experiences, from throwin' all nighters to teaching Elderhostel pottery classes, to Raku nights where I bring the dog and pony show to the party and "provide the fireworks". And I met my wife while we were pottery students together... She deserves a MINI of her own!
Won't bore you all with the stories of my 55 years, but I drove my first Austin mini around the roads (and fields) of County Limerick, Ireland in the early 70's.
Sir M.
PS- I enjoy using emoticons....

Nope....hubby's company doesn't design what goes on each of the aisles...just the colors/surfaces/lettering/signage/checkstand lights kind of things.
I'm pretty sure that those who do decide such things, put the absolute necessities around the back and sides of the store, meaning that customers have to go past less-necessary items to get to the "meat" of their shopping lists, to spur maximum impulse purchases. Product placement is a biggie!

This IS by design. And is why the milk, a staple, is ALWAYS in back. The more stuff you pass the more stuff you'll by. Proven fact over the ages. That is also why we remodel our stores every 7 years, (job security for me) and reset product more often. This keeps you from going straight to what you want.
We know how to MAKE you buy stuff.
