Need help in Las Vegas! HATE Desert MINI

First, the rant:
My friend bought a brand new Mini last year and was jerked around by Desert Mini. We bought a used Mini and have to take ours to DM for service, and we're getting the same ridiculous treatment. They keep insisting on new (out-of-warranty) things that need to be done. Last time we had it in for service, it was $2500! This time they tried to get us for $1000. This was for the 3,000 mile service.

Does anyone know of a Mini mechanic in town (or slightly out of town) that could replace the jerks at Desert Mini? PLEASE! If we don't find somewhere else to take it, we're going to have to sell our baby because we can't afford $1,000 oil changes!

So don't do them. If they are out of warranty, it's your responsibility now to keep it running, not theirs.

That said, I never take a vehicle to the dealer for non-warranty work. They are too expensive.

Go to Palace Station. That's where most of the locals are. I'm on my way as soon as I hit ENTER.

Still under warranty so when I do, it will be the dealer...still free. But haven't had to yet.

By the way, I bought mine at Desert MINI so...

Assuming you live here in Vegas and didn't just drive here for the (bad) service, you should join the Sin City Mini Club. Most of the guys do a lot of their own work, but I'm sure they can recommend a good mechanic for the jobs they can't do

$2500?!! Oh, man, you need to try to get to East Bay MINI; I know they are not in your area (or state) but they have very good customer services and relations. 5yrs 50,000miles and the most friendly employees. I'm sorry that MINI would have someone like that working for them. We don't want to lose any of our MINIing friends.

Contact Bill Goodman at Kensington Motor Cars. He has a shop that specializes in Rovers and MINI's. He has a white Cooper that is a lot faster than it looks.
