Noobie question?

I'm looking for a Mini.

I found one I like, the shifter looks like it's automatic and the ad says auto but why does it look like there are three pedals?

How are the auto transmissions?

Does it take away from the driving experience? I'm asking because my wife has a prostisious on her left leg. Shes owned a Jeep that was manual shift but I'm thinking Auto might be better for her.

I want an S and I want a conv. but judging from the price I'll either get one or the other...

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Peace, Jim

Welcome to NAM.
It could be one of those dead pedals that are attached to the floor board as a foot rest.

I have driven an auto S, man S, auto Coop, Man Coop. I own a man S and all I can say is that is what I prefer. I have known some of our members that were very good with the auto and could just keep up, but to have the "experience" is to have a man S IMO.

As for conv or not, I guess it all depends on if you will have the opportunity to go topless for the majority of you motoring. I have owned a conv and loved it, but it sucked during the winter and when it was windy.

Here is what I think you should get.......... the S.

Either way though, you will enjoy motoring in a MINI

If it's a Cooper it won't have paddle shifters, if it's an S it will have paddle shifters, the 3 pedals most likely one is a foot rest pedal. Contact the dealer and find out!
