I suspected I needed a little support this afternoon when I went looking for the spare in my wife's 2002 MCS that we bought used 2 summers ago, just before Hurricane Katrina and the price of gas spiking. Needless to say, I spent the rest of the afternoon today reading up here to find out all the other things I didn't know about the Mini.

Our S has 18" JCW wheels with the Dunlop run flats. Near the end of last summer the sidewall blew out of one of the tires and we are having them replaced with Toyo Proxes 4 205/40 R18's. Now that I know I can drive the run flats 90 miles at 0 psi I don't need to find a spare . I figure I'm ok for the 15 or 20 miles to the shop.

Any suggestions on a spare? Maybe a civic spare to carry in the boot just for insurance on a road trip?
