According to the interview on Motoringfile, it should be around 3,000 lbs.

It won't kill the Clubman, partly because it simply will not perform the same as a Clubman on road courses or at Autocross Event.

Countryman Colors revealed

Go to http://www.motoringfile.com/ to see the listing of the exterior colors. Looks good to me!

Loving the Oxford Green and Cosmic Blue.

The percentage of Clubman owners that are seriously planning to enter auto-x's and HPDE's is incredibly small. If someone is REALLY serious about tracking the car, most will end up with the Hardtop, instead. Point being, if the Clubby survives, I don't think it's going to be from the handful of sales to serious auto-x'ers.

There's two members of my local motoring club that have Clubmans and take them to AutoX events. There's mine, which is a Justaclubman and a Clubman JCW. EDIT: and there's only 5 of us in the 600+ member club that are serious about AutoX.

Per discussions with some of the really serious track guys in the club, the one that is considered the pre-eminent guru had a Clubman loaner over a weekend while his hardtop was in the shop and he was quite impressed with the difference in feel in cornering between the two. Enough that he stated that he is considering a Clubman as a track car, with the right mods, (that he does to any MINI that he owns.)

I'm becoming a "serious" AutoX-er and will be sticking with a Clubman because they are more practical for me as a daily driver. The extra room makes it easier to get the toddler in and out of the back and also provides enough room to keep her feet from pushing up against the back of the passenger seat. Plus, it's impossible to get a stroller into a standard hardtop, without folding down half of the backseat.

That video makes me interested in the Countryman. It looks pretty sweet I am starting to fall in love with it but, it would not be a vehicle for me. I like my hardtop and that is final.
