The color variation reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where the woman looks fairly pretty in certain light but is scary-ugly in others. I've seen the Pure Red Countryman at the dealer, one in an indoor setting and one outside, and they weren't the same as a Chili Red, but I'd still say they were red. (Tomato Red, maybe?)
BUT, the one on display in the Auto Show setting was totally, totally different in a mind-boggling sort of way. It really looked as orange as the photo depicts.
I really wish I could muster up more enthusiasm for one of the colors!
Don't worry...Pure Orange is on my list of colors I'll probably settle for. No Kool-aid necessary. It's not that bad, actually. People might think I've got two Countrymen.
Well, I don't know how I - of all people - missed this string of Pure Red detritus. If you give PR a chance, you might just suprise yourself. It's not just for breakfast, anymore.
P.S. Feel free to drink the Kool Aide in one of these proselytizing threads -
...The problem with the photos was caused by the digital camera...
There's no doubt that my point and shoot (Nikon S6000) didn't get the colors correct. But the Pure Red did have an orange tint to it under those lights.
. . . the Pure Red did have an orange tint to it . . .
Are you sure? I've neve noticed that. I've seen Pure Red under all kinds of conditions and have never, ever noticed an orange glow to it. Always a nice, bright red.
Hey Folks - Well my Countryman is about a month old now. I really do love this car! Can't wait for some better weather, so I can get out and take some decent pictures. But in the meantime, here are some quick shots.
Actually, I parked where there were absolutely no vehicles at all. Went inside to use the facilities and grab a cup of joe. Walked outside, and this is what I saw!
The alternate caption is: "Do you think black makes my boot look big?"
Has anyone seen a picture of an Oxford Green Countryman with black bonnet stripes or sport stripes? I'm thinking of getting black sport stripes, but I'm not sure how they will look against the green.

Suprisingly, I've seen a number of them. You may have, as well. They are virtually invisible - almost to run your hand over them to make sure they are really there. The first one, I did a double take when I saw stripes on the window sticker, but not on the car. Not a bad look, just very subtle. You may like it.
I was shocked to see a picture of my baby that I posted in another forum and sat and thought for a second, "did I post this??" At any rate, it IS black

CM's must be selling pretty well in my area as ours came in with five others and all five were already sold. In addition they are waiting for a dozen or more others that are already sold.
