Got the stripes done!

I really like the MINI factory sport stripes but wanted to do a more unique colour (sorry, Canadian spelling). I always loved BMW Laguna Seca Blue, and worked with the graphics shop to find something that emulated that.

Probably too small to see, but I also got them to change the brown "4" in the ALL4 badge to a red that matches the "S" on the back and sides of the car.

I'll take pictures with a better camera tomorrow...

Thanks Sealy and MINItitan! I didn't even notice the Hot Yoga until you pointed it out! LOL!

The car got lots of stares at the Canada Day festivities in the mountains today...

Spent Canada Day in the mountains. Here's shot with the "Three Sisters" range in the background.

I also had the "4" changed to red, rather than the beige-y colour that comes stock from the factory - I think it "pops" better on a black car...

Wow, that looks very nice! How were you able to do that? Did you buy the number "4" somewhere online or you had the work done manually at a shop?

Thanks,
Alessandro

Thanks Alesandro - it's just a piece of vinyl that they overlayed into the number. The graphics company that did my stripes also did this for me.

I think others on this forum have also had their "4" painted. Vinyl made sense to me...

Sander - you need to fix your link to add a missing "G" from "JPG". The Countryman looks great, by the way! I like all of the white...

As promised, better pics with a better camera...

Today consisted of washing the car, BlackWow on the flares and such, and Banana Gloss on the paint and vinyl. Whew!

Just like real Laguna Seca Blue, I'm finding the stripes to be quite the chameleons depending on the light!

Finally able to get some pics up. Wanted to wait to trick it out a bit before I posted. Still got some work to do but it's been a pretty quick and fun start. Just crossed 1000 miles today.

MINI is the probably the only brand where you can get away with putting racing stripes on a family hauler!

Would you mind sharing where you sourced your front plate from? I'd love to do a similar thing but I think my state requires display of a front state plate.

You think I could get away with putting my state abbreviation and actual plate number on it!? Same info, different look. I may try it in hope of just getting a warning...

Anyway, if you don't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.

Sure, it's http://www.europlates.com/store/index.php

Now, they don't have great reviews, but I didn't have too much of an issue with them. On another note, these euro plates are definitely not able to take the place of any state plate, but you can tell the officer that you didn't know that when he pulls you over. I wish you the best on that.

Thanks! Maybe in addition to my honorably discharged vet plates, I'll need to get one of those 'I support cops' stickers via charitable donation to better my chances of being left alone (at least that's what I'll tell myself)!

Much appreciated!

nice to see

Nice to see a CM in Norway.

I will be in Stavanger on the 19th of July and in Bergen on the weekend, Oslo on Monday of the next week, then back to Stavanger for the Tall Ships Regatta.

How many Countryman have been sold in Norway, if you have a count?

Don

Here's another one. My dealer Bavaria in Molde has sold 4-5 so far this year, they aren't an official MINI dealer but will be when they move to site. I think they are going to be a popular car, Golf sized for Golf money, no brainer really.
