People used to be so creative with their postings . . . now they just rely on saying "sucks."

The ad probably turned more people off than they got interested in the Countryman. I have a pretty good sense of humor and stuff like that I usually laugh about but I think it was kind of offensive. The marketing exec and new BMW advertising agency should be fired for wasting $3 million dollars.

Well, actually $2,999,980. The sub sandwich "Whoa!", pelvic push, and butt shot were worth at least twenty bucks. IMHO.

for anyone who thought that I was being oversensitive to the double entendre, let me say that I was more disappointed in the lack of quirkiness and creativity in the commercial. MINI's advertising has always been consistent with its image as a cool car that is not of the mainstream. A car apart from the masses. I can certainly understand why the MINI advertisers would choose something more typical for a superbowl commercial, but it was still disappointing. Funny slapstick humor, yes. But nothing more than that.

I'm jealous that the Darth Vader ad wasn't for a 1st gen Cooper back in 2002.

I imagine the commercial being just as it was - except with a jet-black Cooper (no racing stripes), and dad using remote key to open sunroof and windows from inside the house.

See, I didn't see the humor in it and I really think it pales in comparison to my favorite MINI ad of all time, Carbonation:

Ah, they were obviously playing on the "English-ness" of the marque and on our amusement with the English terms boot and bonnet. Given where is is actually made, they should have said "Haben sie im Auto boot"
