We did a road rally with our MINI club on Saturday for a total of 108.1 miles of twisties, hills, etc. and averaged 26.8mpg. This was in my wife's All4 S automatic.
I will be posting our trip to Boston for the weekend of Easter.

Our first tank in ours was 8.5 liters per 100 km, or just over 27 mpg. That was mostly city driving, about 25km per trip.

I'm glad to see fuel economy like i'm getting. I was beginning to think I had to overinflate to 100 psi and keep a very light foot.

According to the records that I have been keeping (my calculations, not the OBC), my first couple of weeks with the CM gave me around 20-21 mpg, and at it has increased since. At my last fill I was at 1850miles and I got 26.6mpg with a distance of 282 miles. I hope that it increases to closer to 30mpg and over 300 miles per tank, but like miniblue2 said, it is what it is.

My CM us used for mostly city driving (70%). I drive pretty mildly unless I am on a longer highway trip.

I just have 182 miles on the car. I got 17mpg for my first tank. Thank you Chicago!!!! Real city driving is not easy on the gas consumption. I know the break in is not even close so we will see as we go forward.

Got 33.0 on my 4th tank. Mostly cruising b/t 50 and 70 MPH, and I did not baby it at all.
Nice!

Got a little over 800 miles on it and am averaging over 28 MPG highway/town driving. I don't baby it and haven't been using the sport button much...but it is a blast to drive! So hard to keep the speed limit LOL

Are you all using premium gas-- at least 93 octane ? ( for the S model owners)

2,671 Miles - Cooper S Automatic

30.1/30.4/31.3 are the last three tanks of gas. Derived from actual miles and gas used. Onboard computer says 30.7 currently.

Maybe 75% highway, 20% back roads, 5% stop and go traffic.

24.2 always driving with sport on and manually. This is two tanks. Once with 91 and once with 93. Mainly city driving and definitely not babying it.

36.02 on the last tank...

back roads and 65 mph highway travel

this was me "feather footing" it to assess overall health

there is one heck of a difference in mileage between 65, and 70+ I find... if I use more than 3,200 rpm the mileage drops to low thirties, and if I use 4-5k rpm then I expect high twenties...

I do appreciate a car that can sip gas while driving up to NH for an autocross, and yet deliver excellent performance on course - a most useful dual personality!

cheers,

Charlie

Ps: Oh mercy! I just realized the context of this thread - my bad... an MCS data point is hardly relevant...

Wow...huge difference in reading these from Automatic tranny to Manual tranny.

I'm at 1200 miles and am averaging 25.3mpg's checking it on my own. I see the owner's manual indicated 'tank is full when two clicks after initial click off occurs' (or something along those lines). I've tried to follow that consistently.

I'm not driving it hard, and pop it into Sport once in a while.

Would be interesting for people to list in this order:

1. overall miles on car
2. average mpg
3. auto or manual
4. 17's or 18's wheels

When I had my 2002 Jetta TDI I threw on a 17" wheel package my mpg dropped nearly 3-5 mpg's per tank at that time. I'm curious as to the weight of the wheels we are all running (and am anxious to see if come winter with 17's wheels and snow tires if I actually get better mpg).

Overall to date, I'm pretty bummed about the mileage. I'm still not getting what my 2009 wrx would accomplish with its manual tranny. But the fun and feature factor?

I also think you should indicate if its the Justa/S/All4 so that you get some sense of standard/turbo/extra drag ... eer 4 wheel drive.

1.) 2,671 miles
2.) 30.7 average (last three tanks)
3.) Auto
4.) 17's (all season-OEM)
5.) S

Nice. To follow the template then:

1. 1271 miles
2. 25.3 mpg (last 3 tanks)
3. Auto
4. 18's 5 spoke (summer Pirelli oem tires)
5. All4

On our Easter holiday trip from PA to Massachusetts, we averaged 30.5mpg @ an avg speed of 70mph. On the way home, we averaged 32mpg @ an average of 72mph.
My wife's CM is an All4 S with the slushbox

I have about 800kms so far, and averaging 21/22mpg. I usually drive city (30km/h-60km/h) less that 15kms to/from work and it's very hilly around where I live. Break-in period so I rarely go above 3k rpms.

S All4 /Sport/6 spd, with the sunroof.

Hey all - don't forget to post what transmission you have and whether or not your CM is ALL4. Both of those have an effect on mileage.

I'm reading this thread with intense interest since I'm waiting for delivery of a CM I bought largely because of its mileage compared to similar cars.

Hey, sorry for reposting your better-phrased suggestion. I like the consistent format too.

I am 625 miles into my New countryman. In more city than Highway my computer shows 26MPG. When I have calculated manually on the last two tanks it was 25.3 I have a an ALL4 with an Automatic.
