R60 R60??
#2
Welcome, and I think I can answer your question.
The R60 designation is an internal designation used by the manufacturer to refer to the Gen. 1 Countryman chassis type. Smaller MINIs are known as R53 (older) or R56 (newer) among others. This is normal in the industry... BMW's 3 series were called E30, E36, E46 and E92 (in that order, referring to successive generations) and Porsche 911s may be further narrowed down to 964, 993, 996, 997 and 998. The same is true for numerous other types of cars.
Generally only industry types or enthusiasts use these codes, and it's uncommon for the general population to be aware of such designations outside owners or enthusiasts of a given marque.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Tad
