Well I got my cable today and it doesn't work with the car at all. The car displays the message that the cable I'm using isn't supported.. That was a waste of $20.. It charges but that's it..

Using a iPhone 4 btw..

ALL4TURBO…what cable did you order ?…there were a few posts earlier (me being one) mentioning that it was not working as complete as the supplied Y cable from Mini.

I thought I had followed the thread correctly and ordered the 13335 black cable.
http://www.radtech.us/Products/proca...usb-audio.aspx

It only charges. My build date on the door jam is 4/11.. I think I should return the car and keep the cable..

Also, I have the standard radio with the iPod kit factory installed. Not the Nav.

It's the right # and cable…but I did mention that it does not do all the features..I thought it did as well..until I tried it out……Thats why I was trying to let those following know this. But it should do more than just charge…should provide audio..just no cover/album art. Perhaps the Ipod kit makes a difference. How about connected ? Not having navigation or a later build would not make a difference.

I emailed the company at 9 am and haven't heard a thing back. Not a good sign..

I dont expect the video to work but the audio should work.. That is the whole point of having it..!

My first long road trip. Mine doesn't do plugin or album art either. I did notice that the USB symbol that shows up in the top right hand corner if you have connected displays number. I think it has to do with the number of pins on the connector and of course the number of bands on the mini jack connector matters too. So four band mini jack and 2 or 3 pin connector?

Video is provided on the 4th ring of the 3.5mm jack, otherwise you just get audio with the other style jack... also the white Apple iPhone connector will work with MINI connected.
The cable I have was provided with the car....
Has anyone found a third-party source for a compatible Y-cable with the 4 Conductor 3.5mm jack?

Seems to be the key to getting MINI Connected + a/v working properly with the iPhone4. I'd just as soon get it from a vendor than succumb to dealer extortion for the cable on the left in mjgood's pic in Post #10.
